  5. time served panel beater, worked 26 years in the same vauxhall accident repair centre, been off the tools for a long time now working in the management side with scotlands largest motor dealer.
  6. am 43.
  7. missed my first national dinner for a few years due to a family gathering, hope all went well and the ones that stayed have had a good breakfast, very well done to all the prize winners and looking forward to next year already. :)
  8. had a great night and enjoyed presenting the prizes to some top top west section fanciers, some of these guys were heroes of mine as a boy, dinner and company were great :)well done to all the south lanarkshire winners.the wee doo was a cracker stuart. ;)
  9. the doos love them jb,and so does ma da as they are free. :D
  10. clay nest bowls for us with straw,we also use cut reeds which the doos love, when the birds finish the nest the other loftmates are waiting for you to scatter the reeds from the deserted nest and they have them in their nests in jig time. :) keeps them busy.
  11. dont think its that hard to spot john. very hard to win prizes in the open shows these days.
  12. corr and coyle were from the chryston club john and they did win the lanarkshire fed avs, hope this helps.
  13. think ron is still racing,he did speak reguarly to john harwood.but what a pigeon!!!!!!!!!! :)
  14. i played football with steven as a boy, he was actually a pretty decent striker and also is a very decent person, just an impartial comment from a non old firm fan.
  15. iwould like to thank the members of CLARKSTON CLUB for the invite to me and my dad to their presentation night where we had the honour of presenting the trophies, nearly the whole membership and wifes were in attendance, tom corrie jnr gave a very good acount of the year with a breakdown of the seasons races and performance pigeons, a lovely buffet was then had(catering mr & mrs toosh potter) and then followed by a first class band, well done to all the prizewinners and members of this very hard working club. :) :)
  16. enjoyed the night, :)
  17. :D :D
  18. will be there and looking forward to a good night. :)
  19. great answer billy,no frills no nonsense just race them. ;)
  20. dont usually bring in many new birds and if i do its usually a youngster in a sale or in a swap with a y/ster or l/bred,have 2 youngsters coming for next year that are both off this years SNFC silver award winners, both west of scotland birds as these type usually turn out just nice. ;) heres hoping.
  21. would be nice if some wee shiek would buy my team PARTICK THISTLE,GLASGOWS GREAT ALTERNATIVE AVAILABLE AT A SNIP. :D
  22. dont think we have the doos for four channel races jock, imo if the members want two inland races and 10,000 doos entered canny be wrong for the first two nationals, why not distances from 300-600 (central scotland) miles is catering for the whole scottish fancy, with less doomen we need a programme that caters for all. 5 old bird races, distance to me, 330mls 400mls 460mls 580mls 630mls. looks not to bad too me. :) :)
  23. not for me frank, the hen we timed at reims was at peterbourgh and the other birds home were at bovingdon, imo eastbourne is for yearlings and birds for the last race frank.ps we have scored from the gold cup with a hen that flew the coast on the previous saturday but not ideal preparation. :)
  24. not so Gareth imo, traditionally we have always had a coast race the week before the gold cup either federation or national since time began, i still dont think this has a bearing on the gold cup,the problem is ypres/clermont one of these has to go too many having to spread their teams to accommadate. ;)
