have been looking at the yb racing programme/career of the birds that scored in this years national races for ourselves,very interesting reading with a great mix,some latebreds,some unraced some with one or two races,our scottish national silver award winner this year had only crawford as a youngster which is only 40 miles,he has 4 snfc diplomas to date,certainly food for thought. ;)

i have a wee gang which have only been trained and i am confident that there will be one or two stars among them!!!!!!!!!! they will have to fly peterbourgh,and or one or both inland nationals next year ;) ;)

not too bad a team alf ,as always me and old jock keep good records of racing and breeding and over nearly 40 years winning doos at all distances have had different racing programmes as youngsters and some no racing at all as youngsters,the cock that was 6th sec 32nd open tours winning his 3rd nat ticket was an unraced youngster,our silver award winner this year had 1 race from crawford as a younster with the midland fed,on the other side of the coin birds that have scored at the ybn have gone on to win at rennes etc,think the point is imo there are no hard and fast rules with y/bs although i think they must get the big stick as yearlings ;)we have our youngsters very similar to yourself alf and will hopefully finish the programme with a few darkness y/bs,good luck with your doos alan. :) :)

some good points Gareth,imo the natural youngsters every year are finding it harder to cope with yb racing. :)

NOT GOOD ALF russian roulet with the youngbird racing,it will be some other feds turn next week m8, really pisses me off when guys on PB are not happy getting 55/58 62/65 etc,when other feds are getting humped,be happy with decent returns because it might be you next week :o ,good luck alf as there will be a wee winner still to come home to you which will have learned so much. ;)
