  4. It’s not always the leaders that get hit it’s just your luck anybody that trains pigeons in twos or threes will know that it’s not always the first ones to get let go that gets hit it can be the last group or the second group that gets it and racing on a Saturday is just the same it’s your DONALD DUCK simple as that but what I will say is I’ve trained my pigeons and a few of my club mates pigeons for a good few years now and the guys that were getting them back hawked from the tossing were mostly pigeons that are unfit and are maybe at the *expletive removed* of the batches and maybe getting picked out they peregrines can take one from the back of the batch and the rest of the doos don’t even know it’s happened.

  6. I try and get them out as often as possible in the off season I was always under the impression that exercise is good for all living things but it becomes impossible when you go to work in the dark and come home in the dark so Saturdays and sundays are the only option in winter . I don’t like my pigeons being locked up for too long it can lead to stress in certain individuals I have a cock that damages his tail feathers by biting into them during winter when locked in and also two of his daughters show the same trait during the winter if locked up for a while I put it down to stress as during the season when they are paired up this behaviour stops by the way these pigeons are my best line at the moment both the hens have scored at the channel I’ve had pigeons 50 year now and this is the first time I’ve had this problem.
