The legendary John Crowder of Mansfield fasts his pigeons for 3 days at a time throughout the winter once the moult is complete. He makes sure there is plenty of water though. According to the author of 'Feed to Win', fasting induces the pigeon's system to devour anything lingering within the pigeon's body for nutrition, such as viral matter and strongly recommends fasting as a health curative.

We got Real Madrid (5-0 on aggregate!) then the cheating, conniving Chelsea, where we gave as good as we got on their home turf without our star man. I just come across these pictures on the RSPB forum, of a female sparrowhawk eating what appears to be another sparrowhawk, believed by the twitchers to be a 1st year male. Is the worm in the foodchain beginning to turn? Would cessation of racing and flying our birds out in the U.K. for just 1 season see more widespread acts of cannibalism such as this? Food for thought.

The Midland National and North West Classic YB events were won into Liverpool in 2008 by Warren, Son & Garrity flying the Willy Jacobs and Denis Sapin families in the main and they have started 2009 where they left off last year, I think the Sapins are a combination of Soontjen & Cooreman blood and I have heard a lot of people talking about them of late.
