  1. Stamvater Janssen?
  2. G'day Joe, if you read what I wrote one more time, you will realise that I never said Aliens are Loon x Aarden, I said I had good success when I crossed Aarden based pigeons with pigeons of Planet Brothers' Van Loon and Alien origins. And my source, who is a very close, lifelong friend of Gary Squibb and his dad John before he passed away (so close in fact he often served on Planet Brother's stall at Blackpool, helped out with the management of the pigeons at Noak Hill and brought me at least 4 of my original Planet Brothers stock pigeons from Noak Hill to my home in Liverpool) stated to me that the Aliens were Aarden based. As you will no doubt be aware, Planet Brothers brought in the Aliens for the further distance at Combine level and refused to tell the buying public what the actual base of the Alien pigeons were, given the amount of people that had previously jumped on the Van Loon bandwagon and used the good name of Planet Brothers to sell pigeons that did not originate from themselves. So I am going on what this person who I know to be very close to the Squibb's inner circle, told me a long time ago and who I would assume had no reason to be telling me porky pies, as he had nothing to gain by doing this, to my way of thinking.
  3. ;D ;D ;D
  4. From personal experience I would have to agree that they don't get going 'til it gets further out, but we have had good results over the pond when crossed into Planet Brothers' Van Loons / Aliens (which are claimed to actually be Aarden based by a man in the 'know').
  5. Pigeon Racing - from the Egg to E.T.S Legacy on the Wind Above us only Sky!
  6. Agreed Chris, a very small price to pay for the hundreds upon thousands they take from the 'hobby' fanciers every year.
  7. A door closes on a great pigeon fancying legacy, R.I.P Dale, sincere condolences to the Newcombe family.
  8. Death by ET(S) Doo Jangles?
  9. Well in John, a quality gesture.
  10. I don't know if he still races, but a fellow by the name of Jimmy Banks of Southport had an outstanding family of Grondelaers, winning out of turn as I remember. A former clubmate bought some latebreds off him about 4-5 years ago, they were beautiful pigeons.
  11. John Harwood (or is it Henwood?) who writes for the BHW, races the American Pete Pobors family into Scotland successfully doesn't he?

  13. As long as they paint their new owners in Glory, that's all that matters eh?!
  14. Possibly Bob McDonald Ko Nips, Old Yellow? I seem to recall them myself.
  15. Class, class pigeons Gaz, Eddy Janssens has a big future destined. Hope they sell well for you mate.

  20. All the best Chris
  21. Are the Van De Pol pigeons the same ones that Geoff Kirkland brought in during the mid-late 90's?
  22. With regard to Van Reet, I recall Staf on the Dean Pallatt release citing a 'vos' pigeon from 'Hermans' of Luithagen, the voucher pigeon he won from his corn suppliers, in addition to pigeons from his grandfather's old family as being at the base of his family, but nothing of Hoorabins. That's not to say he never said it of course! Just what I remember from viewing both Dean Pallatt's video and Around Antwerp's Van Reet release. Does anybody have any further information on Hoorabins?
  23. And in parallel, I think I read in the Janssen book that although the men from the Arendonk never played on the middle or long distances, other fanciers were winning out to 600 miles at National level with pure Janssen pigeons. It is indeed a funny old game!
  24. I remember reading that pigeons of the Bricoux family were used as foundation stock by the late Albert Marcelis when founding his family of National Ace sprint winners.
