I have never heard any of the older fanceirs speak about not feeding their birds for 4 days as for it being a soft approach in my eyes its nothing short of cruelity and for what its worth my birds have food in front of them 24-7 365 days a year and it does them no harm at all. We could always blame the race controller. For me am not in to young bird racing but I always try to get them a minimum of 2 to 3 races in their year of birth as I personally feel that they need the experience of being on the transporter but each to their own I know of guys that don't race young birds at all.
