Have also noticed that some fanciers dont let their birds out on a Friday,often wondered what the thinking in that was,mind I suppose the obvious being that they could go off and spend hours away or even suffer a bop attack.

I believe ALL feds etc are asked to do this every year by the RPRA and then they publish them every week in the British Homing World,but looking at the amount in there its obvious a lot just dont bother. Changes and delayed starts would be very difficult to publish at times as these are decided near the end of the week.

This ring was issued to a fancier in the Worcester SRFC, I know the secretary so I,ve informed him where it was found etc and he is informing the owner.Thanks for your trouble.

Were the rings allocated straight onto the speedy or done by the club programme on the computer,I never put them straight on myself so not sure how to edit them on the speedy but for future referance the correct way is GBspacespace-12-spacespaceBspace12345.

Dont mess about Vicki do as they say inform the RPRA,if this guy had anything about him it was obvious to anyone that this bird would return to your garden if his son liberated it so close he really needs to get the bird back home and keep it in for a while.There is a guy on here who is a member of the same club as the owner I did email him but have heard nothing back. Let us know his name Vicki it might be useful,email it to me if you like.

Glad to here everythings sorted BUT I dont like to hear that the bird may be liberated locally as I,m sorry to say there is a very good chance he will be back

Hopefully you should hear from the owner shortly,I took it on myself to ring the club secretary and explain things to her she was going to ring the owner straight away so lets hope something is done at last,let us know Vicki what goes on.

If you put up your address on here there may be someone close by who will pick it up,but as you have heard I would imagine many times unless the bird is contained nobody can do a thing to help.

It does say you can arrange your own courier.

Most suppliers tend to charge about the same but every now and again Meditech from the Midlands will have on offer at a few pounds off vaccine that as a short shelf life left,it might be 2 or 3 months but they sell it a lot cheaper so its a great saving if you want to do your birds fairly quick.

I usually buy Matrix or the new Versele-laga All in one which as all the grits minerals etc in it,but I must admit most of the time I forget to give them any it really makes me wonder if it is really necessary.

I dont know of any club or organisation down here that would let you use ETS and also rubber your birds you do not get a choice its one or the other,so if the ETS failed I,m afraid thats it,you can have 2 clocks set if you use rubbers only but as others have said you must mark your number 1 clock then only if that one fails can you use the second one.

Always keen to know what the problem is or how it may be caused when I see someone having trouble with ETS never know when any info.may come in usefull oneday, any idea as to what happened.

Just checked back and he was 7th open last year from Palamos, the year before was Barcelona same bird was 16th open 765 miles.
