  1. How much do people actually take notice of wether or not a birds skin is flakey or not,I personally take no notice at all as on many occasions my first bird home from a race as often been the one with the flakiest skin.Take for instance our race last weekend whilst checking the birds over on thursday night for basketing i noticed that one of the birds that i was sending was really smooth and pink around the breast bone, you.ve guessed it he is awol,my first bird had very flaky skin and was 6hours 6mins.on the wing doing 1275 for a 265 mile race.

    Clock

As a club secretary i think it is my juty to the other members to find out as much as i can so that when july1st comes any one who wants to use it can,i have attended many shows over the last few months looking at the differant systems and finding out as much as possible, hopefully i will have the system set up ready for my own use by then.Demonstrations have been organised in our area for this sunday and the following monday so that fanciers can have a look for themselves at what i think are the two main ones i.e. Bricon and Unikon.Forgot to say as we are a clock station for the NFC,MCC,AND CSCFC,i guess we will be getting some training from the NFC as they are suppling every clock station with a club system.
  11. I was told by a fancier who as been very successfull over the years with darkness youngbirds to take them off exactly 1 month before the first race.

    Clock

Bruno, what sort of percentage of scottish fanciers would you think are using ETS now.

    Clock

Suppose they are expensive, they are actually out now you can use them in England as from 1st july,i think a very big % will change but perhaps not at first,Scotland have been using it for some time now perhaps one of the Scottish fanciers on here could tell us what % do they think are using it up there now.

    Clock

You not thinking of having the ETS system then as it seems a bit of a waste buying a t3 now when you could buy a ETS.

    Clock

Couple of t3,s for sale in last weeks BHW page 134,just been serviced, really good bargain there.

    Clock

There are loads of adverts for clocks in the BHW. and RP.You have picked a good time to purchase a clock as they are going very cheap now because of the introduction of the ETS,personally i would look for a STB you can pick them up for about £40-£50,or if you wanted to spend around £150 go for a T3.
  17. Severn Valley Fed.are at Kingsdown.
  18. I think this is something only you can decide on as only you know what preperation and races your birds have had,if you could guarantee that it would be a easy race with no holdover it could do them some good.
  19. Hi Jack,Over the years i have been shown many so called green eyed pigeons even one which belonged to a well known eyesign judge but i could still not see why they called it a green eye,the photo which you have put up leave,s me in no doubt that is what you say it is,i dont think anyone could mistake that one.
  20. Having been interested in eyesign for over 40 years i was allways lead to believe that the green and violet eyes were the ones that you should have in your loft, but over the last few years the thinking with many eyesign people is that it is not the colour of the eye but how the eye is made up that you need to look for.I dont profess to be a eye sign expert in any way but i have won prizes at many of the big shows all over the country and i allways would use what knowledge i think i have to choose my stock birds, pedigrees mean nothing to me when choosing a bird to buy, that is of course if i can see the bird i am buying.
  21. Do you know if your birds were with the Severn valley fed as they were up at 6.45 also.
  22. Dont seem to matter wether pigeons are immune or not if DEFRA says there are no shows, racing or sales then thats what it must be,lets hope they dont over react this time.

    GREEDY

Fanciers who have said,First 4 in the club the rest in the fed,can you honestly say that you would accept a position in the club when you know that there are possibley say 10 birds home with better velocities than yours.

    GREEDY

Saw a fancier clock in 69 of 70 odd and say... 'I long for the day when I can clock all 70 odd in before anyone else gets one in... soon will I reckon. The day that happens all the rest of the members may as well pack in if they cant clock in before the guy as clocked in 70.
