Hi Slug, just wondering what were the velocities, here are a few from over this side,40 miles vel 3229,72 miles vel 2681, 80 miles vel 2744,88 miles vel 2892,100 miles vel 2385 and one listed from New Zealand at 100 miles vel 2578.
Mick,I could be wrong on this but I dont think that you can use a programme as yet that downloads the arrivals straight onto the computer, all arrivals have to be printed via a printer that is connected straight from the ETS,or is this something totally differant you are asking about.
Have a look in the BHW 21ST Sep. page 167 some crackers in there (going on the pedigrees which mean nothing)but might be worth a look,by the way mate I also have the Busschaert book you are after but i,m definatly holding on to that one.
Are you saying you vaccinated the same birds 5 weeks after the first dose,If so no wonder you have problems the second dose supposed to be 12 months after the first.
How about this for the ultimate criteria for buying and selling birds,Youngsters only to be sold off pigeons that have bred winners the previous season, old birds to be sold only if they have bred winners the previous season. If you are buying youngsters only buy off pairs that have bred winners, and if you are buying old birds for stock only buy them if they have bred winners before.Wonder how many would be selling birds then.
Dustbins would be overflowing.
Probably cut the stray problem in half.
Good pigeons that breed winners are very hard to find and once you have found a pair don,t let them go,I know you were stuck for room Phillips but if that was me i would have made room for a few pairs of the stock birds that bred the winners and had less racers.
With such a lot of talk going on at the moment about buying and selling pigeons it got me thinking about pigeons that were bought in for stock this time last year,I was wondering are the members happy with the youngsters you bred off them, did the birds breed you winners, did you spend a load of money because the bird was off or closely related to a champion and it,s bred you nothing,be interested to know what results people have had off birds they bought in for stock.
Yes you will be able to enter mate, either by sending one or two of your own youngsters to him or buying some of the ones he as sent in,all the birds he had sent him were transfered into his name so that he was able to send them in his clubs races. If you look under the Competitions page i think the details are on there some where.
Friday and saturdays nights for acouple of hours and saturdays when i was waiting for the birds to come home was my break from work, now racing is finished i will be working all the time in my taxi, roll on April so that i can get a few hours rest from work again.
I have noticed before on the forum when the liberation times have been put up that the UNC liberate their sections or feds (not sure which)at differant times, would that have been the same yesterday or would the 17,000 birds all have been up together,(just wondering).
Your in luck mate i,ve got the BHW from that weekend with the sales list in if thats any good,(in mint condition) if you want it send me your a.d. and i will post it on to you.
Do people seperate their darkness youngsters as well as I have been told its best just to shut them up after the last race and let them moult out properly without causing any stress by moving them into a differant sections e.t.c.
Come on Jason put us all out of our misery let us know what the returns were like or even to say well sorry ladies and gentlemen there were no birds home any news would be greatfull.
