  1. I thought I was the only one who thought that way Bruno, you have only got to look at some of the birds for sale on here at the enormous prices peple want just because they are brother or sister of some champion or won lots of races, like you when buying a bird for stock i,m more concerned on what it,s bred than if it,s a brother sister or whatever to some big winner. There will still be lots of people at the sale who will pay enormous prices though I bet.
  2. A champion racer i think we all agree on that but what as he bred that is the question.
  3. Obviousley a super racing pigeon but his he any good at breeding good pigeons, not trying to be funny mate but not all good racers make good breeders.
  4. Have used him many times great service should be calling on him again in the next few days.
  5. [ ets wont make your birds get home any quicker and wont make you an overnight superstar.....good bird and good management will..... 8) I think this sums up exacly what ETS is about and wish some of the anti brigade would realise this.
  6. As you are in USA I guess that things are differant over there ,here the club can use all the systems at the same time as the ruling is they have to be compatible,it is also a rule that the pads must be inside the lofts not on exterior landing boards.
  7. Sorry Darren but I cant see your reasoning in the statement Do you realy need ETS to be competetive, how is it going to make you competitive fair enough you might gain a couple of seconds on the fast races but i still cant see how a timing device can make you competetive or not.My reasons for having it are,I am a taxi driver and some times I may be away from the loft and there.s no one to time in with ETS no problem but i will always be there if I can.For national racing I think it will be even better, you may have 2 races the same day and have to go to your club say at 7 but still be waiting on national birds with ets no problem it will clock them for you well your gone, another thing perhaps there is no birds home on the day you might over sleep the next morning and miss the birds, no problem with ets.
  8. There,s a guy in our club that as one not sure if he wants to get rid of it or not I could ask him or if you want to send me your phone number i,ll get him to ring you, where abouts are you.
  9. The entrance fee is £150.
  10. Is there any members who are interested in joining a syndicate that is planing to have a bird or birds in the RPRA Yearling One loft race for next year.At the moment Frankdooman as a bird there which was in the one loft race this year, this is at present being auctioned off, auction finishes sunday night(see RPRA 1 LOFT SALE) thread for more information.Frank is hoping to secure the bird in the auction and then we intend to enter it in the yearling 1 loft race next year,if we get enough members interested perhaps we could purchase another one or maybe two and enter them as well.Franks birds flew all the hot spot races and also the final one and was allways in the result but not quite high enough to win him any money,as you can see it,s well bred, the sire being the sire of the bird that won the Scottish 1 loft race last year.We have 5 members interested at the moment so if there is anyone else let me know as soon as possible then we can decide wether or not to try and get another bird or birds and how much it will cost each member to form the syndicate.
  11. Just seem to have 4 at the moment might be better if we start another thread,PIGEONBASICS YEARLING SYNDICATE or something like that and then we could asked other members if they are interested.
  12. Thats fine with me Frank, what do the other members feel who have said they will come into the syndicate, should we just go with the one bird or should we have two, perhaps taking jeremy,s advice on the second one.Frank email me your phone number and i will ring you back.
  13. Yes no problem when we have secured a bird or birds we can sought out exacly how many wants to be in the syndicate and work out how much each member as to pay, then if everyone agrees each member can sent the money to me and I will sought things out from my end.
  14. What about if you charged a small fee this year say £1 a badge.members to pay the pound before you made the badge, the money could go to help run the site or if Richard prefered he could present it to a charity of his choice.
  15. Well i,m interested seeing as I sujjested it.
  16. Dont forget me Ryan seeing as it was me who asked about them.
  17. How about leaving it in Frank for the yearling races, perhaps we could get enough interested on here and form a Pigeonbasics syndicate. Looks like someone,s outbid you at the moment its up to £10.
  18. I to will be racing my widowhood cocks in 2008 with the ets system, normally mine would trap through open doors but next year i will have them going in through a box type of trap,it will have a landing board on the front and as they walk into the box they will pass over the ets pad, then go through bob wires at the back of the box and into the loft, hopefully this will be as quick as if they were trapping through open doors and catching them to remove the ring. This is how i plan to do it at the moment but if I come across anything at one of the shows which i think might be better i might purchase that.
  19. Cracking post Alan, have been watching postings by Timbarra myself and spotted many times like yourself where he as contradicted himself.
  20. I see what you are saying here but you can see the problem the fed officials have also, they (in most cases)have been voted in to do the best they can for the fed (in their eyes)so if the best thing is to go with other feds to keep costs down then the only way then is to go with the other feds race programme, this is not allways going to please everybody but i,m sure going on your own and paying high birdage charges would not please everyone either. It can be a very difficult job when you are a fed official and you know that what ever you choose somebodies going to moan, but you ask the moaners to do the job and they dont want to know.
  21. GO to this site mate should give you everything you want to know,www.ticuk.com.

Did you manage to contact the guy who,s name I gave you slug.
  23. Bruno,You say you find it strange that a collector can get these rings but not a fancier, these rings are from Morrocco how do you know that morrocan fancier,s cant buy them now, they probably have totally differant rules over there.
  24. In our club the clock insurance is separate from the club fee,s,this is totally voluntary, as some members choose not to have seperate clock insurance because they say their house insurance covers their clock or clocks but as this as allready been advised it is best to check with your insurance company just to make sure they are covered.
  25. Very good rule I think that covers the situation that could arise perfectly.
