  1. Pick up the phone and ring you region secretary's that is what we pay them for, another farcisle promotion by the men in black and new general dogsbody. This Fact should have been sent to every member of the RPRA and advertised in the weekly press and threads put on the best chat sites. On reading the adverts from the clock repairers they can also convert STB's too. Now then thats put a spanner in the works OLD YELLOW is bang on the button stating the rules will also have to be changed also, as I see it you SHOULD be able to put as many rubbers as you wish into 1 chamber?? Are we going to learn once again members of the council and the self appointed rules commitee have made another cockup?
  2. Yes I totally agree, now is the time to get around the table together and work things out, and may I also add that my opinion is that members of the rpra council and the BHW show comittee are mandated to setup funding to allow this project to be carried out, instead of giving our thousands of pounds away each year. I would also like to see a significant investment into research regards our birds health as they do in Belgium (University of Ghent) and also into more intensive research into the dreaded fancier's pigeon lung disease.Although I am of a charitable kind, I believe in the words of our Prime Minister "it is with prudence, now we find ourselves in this economic and very unstable financial climate it is time that our charity begins at home, food for thought?
  3. Ditto, Keep mine as well, but would you buy a piece of shagpile carpet and fit it into the wee white lofts, so to keep my youngsters feet warm only the best will do............................ ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  4. The portugese have an affection for TIN, just look where they keep their fish?
  5. It was also reported in the media by an eye witness " that he went to ground too easily and furthermore he walked away from the tackle complaining he'd had the road taken from under him" now if that is the case was surely this must be a cardable offence?
  6. Allegedly, the media reported that Van Der Sar was following at speed very close behind, which make you think they alledgedly may have been either on the late side for training at Carrington or they were racing each other, which either way it will not bother you or I as he will take delivery of a new replacement model tomorrow morning. You can bet your life he will not have 5 - 6 months for a decision regards repair from the insurance assessors. Hmmn........ I wonder if they paid him scrap value for the wreckage then deducted recovery charges from it. I suppose it's a classic case of the have's and the have nots, nevertheless life goes on.
  7. For some it maybe a help but for the majority we have already woken up and smelt the coffee, gentlemen & ladies we are now approaching the start of a very difficult financial period, families having their homes repossesed by the hundreds daily, multi-giant companies of long standing going into recievership, redundancies, employment cutbacks, utility bills severely increased food prices on the up and dare I mention the corn and sundry stockists with their ever inflating prices. There is always a gimmick on the eve of yet another Blackpool Show. It is taking some of us every penny to keep on going in the sport and yet these companies try their best to convince us that THEY are doing US a big favour. By not having an ETS installed does this mean you won't win races? I think not, as been discussed many times over the pigeon has to be there in the first place, neither will having ETS installed will it make bad pigeons winners. Keep your eye on the ball, and don't get sucked in this farciscal carousel enjoy your Blackpool Show, but watchout for these charlatans for no doubt they'll be out in force to get your signatures. Lets keep our hobby simple, affordable and enjoyable.
  8. Dont be overcrowding the white loft with young birds, got to leave some room for my vouchers Jason? ;D ;D ;D Well done and many thanks to you Jason and indeed Taylors Choice our race sponsors. P.S. My £5 is in the post Jason.
  9. Nice and neat setup Jason, a credit to you makes my place look like chantytown, but one has to make do with what is available. Can my two birds be raced to the white loft, I believe its fitted with ETS? well being the Chairman it always does have an advantage.

Roland you forgot to mention that great BRITISH institution "HP SAUCE" made by royal appointment to Her Majesty the Queen. I am very disappointed to announce to the nation that it is now manufactured in Denmark. And people ask why the Great has been removed from Britain ? well its the politicians we all have to thank.
  11. "The Perfumed Allotment"
  12. Your Bang On the Button Budgie, enjoy the weekend but be careful with your hard earned cash. There is always some genuine birds on offer, but a lot of them are not as good as what we already house in our own lofts back home.
  13. T3 Conversions:- Cell Conversions to T3 clocks £35 + £10 p&p Mr.R.Dorritt Tel; 01603 891488 or mobile 07877 779961 If we are to spread the load of work required I am sure we will have them back in good time for the annual clock testing after all its only takes 24 hours to test a T3.
  14. Long may these tempretures continue its about time mother nature got to grips and destroyed all these lurgies, bacteria and viruses, who knows it could be the long awaited end of the dreaded young bird diseases which will mean more monies being retained in the fanciers pockets with not having to meet the antibiotics and vetrinary's bills, Yes I am compassionate too, and as long as we get well rapped up and look after the elderly neighbour down our street and make sure they are okay, this artic blast is just what the doctor ordered?
  15. I recommend and endorse the work of P.J.MILLS (RPRA Approved Clock Repairer) T3 Drum Conversion £40 + Carriage = £10. For the cost of a phone call you could find out if he will be attending Blackpool Show Weekend which you could take the clock with you. Tel No- 0121 601 0274 mobile- 07776 386336. I hope you find this information helpful, remember that they will be a lot of clocks being handed in for servicing at this time of the year.
  16. Yes Jason, I dont have a problem with that at all, you could also auction the youngsters left at the end of the season or member of YB challenge has the right to buy the bird at the end of the season. We all know that there will be out of pocket expenses for other things as well as the corn bill to meet, yes it is my opinion that we contribute towards these costs I hope other members have the same opinion. You are doing a good job Jason for us all to benefit which at times you will need the patience of a saint. I applaud your efforts, regards sponsorship of the corn you might give mark evans and his son a ring, they may come forward and help us for some publicity?
  17. Last of the Doo Men
  18. The more the merrier, welcome onboard there shall be plenty of work for you all once the breeding and racing season starts.
  19. Time to introduce another yet important point for debate, reading from material supplied on these threads and referring to many of the Vetrinary Books, Paratyphus copenhagen var is classified as an bacterial infection and not a disease nor a virus. We know from our Vets that you cannot prescribe medication / drugs for the treatment of a Virus because of the many changes it permentates within itself. You can however give treatment against an bacterial infection, you can also give medication to control disesases. So why does Henk De Weerdt state on his dvd, that in his opinion it does not give good results if you inject against paratyphus using a vaccine. His recommendation is to treat with "parastop" (does he take this line because his company do not produce a vaccine against paratyphus?). An interesting thread again, with many different lines of thought, we have debated this subject earlier in the Autumn and for what its worth I was introduced to the Vaccination against paratyhoid, 2 years ago by a top flyer and believe me if you heard what information he told me as regards the UK situation, you would all be vaccinating and demand would outstrip supply of paratyhoid vaccines. My birds have been done again in November and are all happily sitting, and so is the DOG outside the lofts.
  20. Happy New Year Billy, take it easy and try to relax more we all on Pigeon Basics wish you a very speedy recovery and we look forwards to you being well enough to engage in the banter with us all on here.
  21. Most of the paratyphus vaccine have inclusion of four or five most commonly identifiable strains that are likely to be infectous to racing pigeons.these are based on reports notifiable by Vetrinary's back to DEFRA and that data is used by pharmecuticals that make the vaccines. I suppose in a nutshell its a bit like the "FLU VACCINATION" for us humans, some are protected by it, some are affected badly by it, but it does say on the bottle that it takes 10 - 14 days for it to get into our systems, only some people are effected by flu 2 - 3 days after immunisation, ask a doctor and he'll say well thats just coincidence..............Pay yer monies take yer chances I suppose. My doctor was full of festive cheer last week, I went in feeling a bit under the weather, he gave the usual examination and his conclusion was I had got Double Pnuemonia, phew! I replied, he said its alright Chairman since it Christmas I'll only charge you for single?
  22. Same up here in the wild North West, its in short supply and shavings too, mind you if you ask at our corn supplier for an item that's not in stock, its always cause there is a worldwide shortage. Fools are to be tolerated, Idiots must be obeyed. I'm coming Dear...................!
  23. Toughest pubs maybe, but we had the best bare knuckle fighter in the land..........now then know who he was?
  24. When your in the shop and ask to see a camera with an optical lens, make sure that you also purchase a glass hammer for making minor adjustments to the lenses and ask to purchase a longstand to site the camera upon. pay us your monies take your chances.
