  1. Sorry to hear that Stevie, Honestly know how your feeling mate sadly I have gave up the fight and packed up... 4 Peregrinnes the last time I let out over my house roof! Birds with broken legs burst crops from hitting roof at speed! I know feel its cruel making them fly at home but if they dont fly they cant race, If they dont race no much point keeping them so that was what made me 100% finished, My dad is going to come out retirement and have a go so B Massey name will continue rest of 2013 then thats it and up to my dad to do what he likes with them then after, As I say mate sorry to hear the losses
  2. Go halfs on a greyhound?
  3. Oh I'd have been 3rd lol, never mind
  4. Thanks for that!! I knew it was there but my dad talked me round saying fife lol. That explains it
  5. Is the doo in 2nd of mr Alson Fife?? I assumed port seaton gave the Alston doo overfly but see its almost same distance! Well done winners
  6. I don't even think 400 were fed birds, only 2 clubs maybe have been competing as rosewell sent as trainers as that's what I was told at club level. So easthouses had 95 going on there result with 7 making the over 400 yards race rule so only Anniston left! Going on returns I heard I can't see a fed result being full with 20 positions! The race/trainer maybe cost the fed money tbh! But I have no idea and only people in the know can tell us
  7. Injured bird came yesterday,
  8. I ended up with 10/17 ..... Team 2 have still never been in basket but doing good home work and I was due to put them into training today, but last night I let the 23 out and they went away, as time passed I got 4 after 1 hour return and a strag that looked to have a broken/injured leg... Another 45 mins passed and couple dribs and drabs! Ended up 8 missing! That's 15 ybs lost in a weekend!! Sorry but can't and won't do it anymore! Ets rings @ £1.40 each, feed @ £18 per bag, petrol to train them..... All for what?? To feed a Percy or two!! No chance... Will speak to my old man to see if he is coming out retirement to take over but if not there all away! Yb to stock birds!! I am now finished, I wanted to finish last year after getting hit bad but went on and I even managed to win old bird averages in club and only fancier going for the combined average but it's all became too much and I am 100% finished with pigeons both shows and racing
  9. I knew it was supposed to be a fed race and I filled in a sheet but was told at club level I don't need sheet as not fed race now! So my birds went in just ruberred up and no clocks set!! It was on bottom of the old bird fed sheet and I said that! But I heard loads of clubs not sending so assumed a decision was made just to make a trainer on that basis! Bit of a joke and major *expletive removed* up from my club tbh and I am just glad I never exactly got a cracker but going on velocity who did???
  10. Thanks Ian
  11. Peter did it end up a fed race?? I am more gutted about the fact it was just a trainer for my club and they just got ruberred and put in basket! Bad start and really hope not a sign of what is to come but I have 4 Percy petrol my area so in they clear blue sky days a few Percy in sky and yb's would have ended up everywhere, never mind and hope fanciers get them! I am now 8/17 and club mate 16/34
  12. I was 7/17 when I left house a hour or so ago
  13. 01750 82349
  14. I doubt midlothian ones as just spoke to about 8 fed fliers and all got nil! 3 hours 7 mins and no birds from 58 miles in a south wind!! Disaster for yb's
  15. Brill, well done
  16. Oldest racer I have in team is 3, don't see many that age going into baskets these days
  17. Yeah very true!!!
  18. Just been having another wee look through my SNFC book (nothing on tv) and looking at gold award winners! Can some share knowledge on how so few fanciers are winning a gold award compared to recent years? Has the formality on how to win one changed or always been 5? I take notice that in 1981 17 gold award issued, 1985 12 issued yet since 2000 to 2012 18 been won! So 18 in 12 years, is it the calibre or pigeons are not same! The fanciers are now all gone bar a small few? Are fanciers no longer willing to risk prize winners and tuck away to stock? Or is racing just far more harder than the 80's or early 90's
