  1. It would be nice if they put a possitive slant on it but some how?????????????? KEEP US POSTED
  2. Tiz OK being sceptical about Louella birds. A lot of the best birds in Europe have gone in there. Some good birds must come out. Although I've not had any success with his yet. We are planning a house move, then I might try half a dozen Aardens

    WING STAMPS

The rest of us have feelings too Redcheqhen. I was full of pride for days when I got my first 600miler. and I only had admiration for the Irish stray I had 6 posts back. Being a truck driver I can often get 'em somewhere near home. Sometimes within sight of the loft. Only I don't think there are that many that want a 44 tonne truck outside their house at 5 in the morning.
  4. Slugmonkey, "I am on the big bird bandwaggon too." As for pigeons. I gave up trying to pick out good birds. The basket wins everytime. They all look good when they've done all you ask of them. I Just raise my standards every year.

    WING STAMPS

I always stamp our birds often re-stamp two or three times. Do we get 'em reported? Not very often. Birds come in here, feed and water then chuck 'em out every day till they clear. Are they all rubbish? Had a double rubberd Scottish stray in one night, looked in the book, SNFC liberated La Ferte Bernard 301mls to me. Fed waterd chucked out. He wasn't on the roof in the morning. We had an Irish bird here came in fed and waterd every day, wouldn't stay in the pen when I went near. He stayed on my roof over two weeks. When the wind turned east he cleared. Two days later he returned coverd in blood and in a hell of a mess. He came in, and for the first time he let me catch him. IHU 2002 so 56543. When he was able to fly again and the wind once again turned east, he cleared. That bird certainly had "Balls and Brains " I only hope his owner saw the huge effort he made to get home. He was still showing his battle scars when he left. Do we in the fancy do eneough? I think not.

    Feeding ybs

If your birds don't recognise that you're the one who brings the food you'll not get 'em under your control. Honestly I couldn't crack this one 'till we started to feed twice a day.
  7. It might be a good idea to check out some nest box fronts sure it would help. Look on www.everythingforpets.com However some of the happiest looking birds I ever saw were in 25ltr drums with the tops cut off just stacked on top of one another Pigeons like space, with a corner they can defend. Nest bowls are good too
  8. Amtrac do delivery over night. I have had no problems but know others that have. Best o' luck

    weather

It's raining now but the birds go out in all weathers. They don't sit about on the roof though.
  12. I'd go for Ivermectin or dip in duramitex. Possibly one spot on the neck, but I can get ivermectin which I prefere. Me I'd try one then the other a month later. and treat the lot they don't want to be carrying any parrasites. best o' luck
  13. Clockman tiz good to see you back but sorry to see you're that close to the boundry best o' luck old lad
  14. I have to agree with Rose. Mike Young from Timsbury told me. "An hours fly into the wind." At the time I couldn't get em to fly round me 'at. Now where ever my Rugby Cement lorry goes, the birds come too. If you want to concentrate on sprints, I think you want to stay on line of flight. Distance birds should go any-where. Mine go all directions and they don't circle. Last year I let 'em go in Swindon, about 60mls It was misty so I waited till I finished my delivery. Then let em go as the mist had started to clear. Came out of the town to find thick fog, and thought I'd loose 'em. Just over an hour later my wife rang to say my son had just got em in. I was only half way. TRAIN THEM ALL POINTS OF THE COMPASS
