  1. No more than 24 max. I start with 30yb's in my 10x6
  2. March 10th for me
  3. Can't understand the excitement of clocking. I get a thrill just getting them. For me the best thing with ets is, I could use it for training, and identify any persistant latecomers.
  4. £50 membership? Well worth every penny for a well run efficient club! But is it ?
  5. Don't pigeons please the eye more when they've performed? This year our best young bird was a scruffy looking little hen that you wouldn't give a second look. Come the end of the season I looked to see what she was bred from. (I always wait till the end of the season) Turned out to be from our best pair. Can't say I was surprised, but they have to prove them-selves first
  6. Sounds fine to me. You need to be sure of the orriginal cock though 'cos if there are any weakneses then you will just make them worse. Any strengths on the other hand could improve. I would think it would be worth a try. Breed at least six young before you decide weather it has worked or not. If you keep all six babbies after racing you've got a good pair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Jed Jackson, would be one reason why I would be in favour. First you have to get 'em. But what a pity had he not won 'cos of his dissability.
  8. Paramixo, cos we have to. Club sec does all the club. Try not to do it within 6 weeks of first race.
  9. How much time and space is the question! How much work do you want???????????? 8/10 pairs would be eneough for me.
  10. Mid March for me, but then we're nearly last
  11. If you're suspended from one union, then under no circumstances should you be allowd to fly in another. Just my personal oppinion
  12. I use ultimate but not the rest
  13. They may look like Houbens but my friend went to Marris and was the first one to bring them into the country
  14. If you're not moving far. You wont need to do anything drastic. Should break easy enough. Should race ok too. Best o' luck
  15. Interesting this Craig. Can't seem to find any strain that excell normally left with just an odd one after 5/600mls. Old strains seem to hang in there better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Wilf Reed for me. Sorry Rose
  17. Mike!!! HE IS THE MAN I'd be sure there are no better Marris pigeons in the country. But others may have there own oppinions. If I were after sprint birds, I would go to him for his Marris. Each to there own but! He is a man I know and trust, and they are some of the best localy. I'd be torn between going to Nuneaton or Leamington.
  18. A good friend has probbably the best Marris birds in the country. One of the top three flyers in the fed on a regular bassis. He wouldn't send to the distances mine go cos he can't get 'em. HORSES FOR COURSES
  19. Meulemans are well known for chocolates, but deffinately not the only ones that have chocolates. Wish I had some more of Mike youngs Spangles, of any colour.
  20. Hey Ace why did you resign. I've resigned from NFC and MNFC. Thought BICC may be a better bet.

    Frets

Only one way to find out for me. Give 'em till may then train hard. Breed from 'em, race the babbies hard. If you have some left at seasons end, that's a good start. Let's face it if you buy babbies they're untested. Old birds, will be what someone else is preppared to part with. For me late breds would be far the best way to start.
  22. You can't say Dax has the same prestige as the other 4 but how I'd like to win it. The problem is NFC have made it impossible for them to be involved in the Internationals
  23. I don't care where we go but we have no north rd club handy. South road is so unreliable. What a nightmare. Mick you're so right. We put our birds into Alencon, the next Sunday saw us at Lyme Regis for a trainer. Hard work just to get a 500miler out of Bordeaux.

    nfc

What's the point paying any attention to what the NFC say. They advertise races and then go somewhere completely different. I've resigned cos I am only after 500mls plus and don't care which direction but the way the NFC managed their racing was diabolical.
  25. Widowhood and paper pedigree's would be my thought. Too many unraced parents about. Can't agree with your thoughts on lib's Mick but you're dead on with regards speed versus homing ability.
