  1. The owner contacted and is arranging for Amtrak to collect the bird.
  2. Owner arranging bird's collection.
  3. Thanks everyone. The Fifer, I've put the ring number on Lost Birds but it's SU 05 L 17208. Linda, I have thought about reporting it but, it was not the club secretary but his wife who I spoke to.....he needs to get her better trained I'll ring the SHU today and hope that they contact the owner.
  4. Sent you a PM Bart.
  5. Got my fingers crossed. Good luck everyone.
  6. Yesterday I reported the ring number of a pigeon I found to Newmains Club. I was given another number to ring - I think the club secretary. He was not available but, his daughter took the message and told me he would return my call when he got home. I had still not heard by mid day today so I rang again. I spoke to, what I presume was his wife, she was extremely rude, telling me that her husband was far too busy at work to be ringing about pigeons, that he wasn't even racing and she had no idea if or when he would ring me! I told her I was not a pigeon racer and asked what I should do with the bird, she replied that I could do what I wanted with it, it was nothing to do with her!! I was tempted to release the bird but, a fancier friend has advised me that it wont make it home yet and I need to keep it a few more days. So, three phone calls and I'm still no nearer finding the owner! Little wonder the sport gets a bad name and few birds get reported. If this guy doesn't have time to do the job he shouldn't be doing it! I just hope that this bird isn't someone's favourite! > >
  7. Just landed, exhausted on my loft roof - let me pick it up - fed and watered. Can anyone help please?
  8. They are only on 3/4 oz how much lower can I go? They are starving when they trap. :-/ :-/
  9. No, no sign of them. Mmm...possible....we are surrounded by fields and I have seen them go down in the one next to our house but this was when they used to sit out all day!! I've got that sorted now and they trap really well - just got to get them coming straight home now!!. How did you 'cure' them?
  10. They took over four hours to return but, I don't think they were flying all that time - they didn't look tired. They were ravenous-spreading wings and grabbing food so, its not that I'm feeding them too much. If I let them loft fly they go off for two to three hours at a time. :-/ :-/ I think they are getting bad habits and I haven't a clue how to correct them!
  11. Thanks everyone. You are right - they are not getting lost!! I took the three I've been training plus some very young ones, just to get them used to the basket, only 1/4 mile away - that was three hours ago and they haven't returned yet!!
  12. I couldn't get onto the forum or the main site either - got the same message.
  13. My young birds are trained out to 5 miles now and were beating me home. I've changed directions now, at first they did well (up to three miles) but for the last few days it has been taking them 3-4 hours to return from five miles. They strike off in the right direction but don't come straight home. Any suggestions please?
  14. Yes it is Richard - just says: CGI-LIMITS REACHED PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER. Sue

    WELCOME BACK

Hear, hear! Hope you are feeling much better. I've missed you Jimmy. Sue :K) :K)
  16. I have sent you a PM.
  17. Thanks Tammy, I'll give it a try.
  18. I've been told that it is possible to have nearby phone or overhead wires 'corked' free of charge, if you have pigeons. Does anyone know anything about this please?
  19. Any news how Jimmy's doing? :-/ :-/
  20. Happy Birthday Max Love Auntie Suexx :K)
  21. Thanks Sbelbin, Unfortunately, although I have two other pairs on babies, they are all exactly the same age and somewhat larger than these two. It's crop always seems full, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for it.
  22. Two of my babies - one is very slow developing compared to it's nest mate but it seems perfectly healthy. I've been taking the larger one out till the little one is fed to give it a chance- 14 days old.
  23. Lovely looking birds and very spacious nest boxes too!!
  24. Snapper, I, too, was getting impatient wanting my birds to breed but, once they start there's no stopping them!! ;D
