to be totally honest the overall cost of starting up does put lots off we tried new members no fees a few years ago there was no one took us on, i would think that all new members need as much help as we can give them, one idea i like is every time a new member joins a club all members should breed them a pair of ybs that will give them a start

they sprint mate upto 200 miles for my best mate but not a mie further and they dont show but others will tel you they can get them further, we bought some in but was not impressed with them at all, hopefully they will have one more chance next year

all my live my dd had them since 1967, so when i was born in 1980 it was just the thing for me to do i race with my dad in partnership, but my dad says that next year will be is final year and as he is hoping to retire to a bungalow, i have to decide if i will race on my own, when he finishes, i have the stock loft at my own house it may be get rid of stock and turn it injto a race loft of my own in 2012, ony time will tell.

i always cut my stock birds down the first year then let them get there wing up in the next moult and try to break them in, some stay and some go, but at least i ave bred out of them

it has to be 1 of 2 1 blue cock number 70 flew 4 races and took a 1st, 2nd & 3rd before the disastres bank holiday monday he came a week later and has been left till next season, he was bred by my good friend R Geder & son by there 3 times fed topper van reet cock, 2 blue cock 06 bred from our own van reets he fled in 8 races and was never out of our first 6 pigeons every week he took a 2nd 4th 5th club and finally won 1st club on saturday the last race of the season, am really looking forward to these 2 next year.

natural next year as only having 3 races for yb as going on holiday in yb season so no point in putting on dark

i feel that it wuld be a massive motivation thing but agree i would not want my birds on the floor and to be honest the pepo boxs give us enough motivation for our young birds

we have had same problems mate with our yearlings, not produceing the goods as yearling our verry rarelly, what we have found is that if you take it easy with them as yaerlings they come back as 2 year olds,
