if its the distances you want i use google earth on there is a ruler tool for measuring A-B as the crow flys not the most accurate thing but better than nowt

its unfair and wrong for the birds all the ones in the basket the day before will be battering each other very time they are disturbed for 24 hours more than the others that it self must stress them out more + food & water controlled by them must have its toll on the birds ability to perform on the day

some years ago when the sparrows were many i had an owl to feed and i used a mouse trap to catch some sparrows they soon learned not to go in my garden i am not saying you should trap them but they lean quickly so if you say live trap then release them they will not be comming back in a hurry or paint two big eyes on a board lie it flat with some string to pull it up bait it near the board and when they come and are pecking away happily pull the string and scare the crap out of them

i think they male + female but will not breed very well in a small cage get rid of the egg give them a larger place to live somewere they can come and go freely? to get sticks for a nest this time nxt year you will have loads and its 21 days to hatch each egg one day apart

you would like think the police would know the type of people who may do this sort of thing and give them a knock on the door to see if they have blood on there hands/clothes and find out but they are to busy on the speed cams and paper work

hand feed it on seeds + water until it can fly or try and find the nest and put it back there or you could try putting it in a small box stick it somewere the cat carnt go and sit with it until it parents show if they do see if they feed it good luck with it it looks happy were it is

if ya get a pen tourch and shine it on the back of the eggs you will see if there full or not
