    Peregrines

Took birds a toss Thursday , around 30 miles , got held up in traffic as usual (Kingston bridge) ,took me 1 1/4 hrs to get back ,went out to loft and thought good they are home , until I looked for a 2 yr old chew cock ,wasn't there then others ,6 in total , about 15 mins I seen a yearling chew hen coming with one right behind her ,aye right , it was fin Percy bass a , the wee hen was scared shi tless , then another 20 mins there was the chew cock wing trailing .,yes Percy had a go at him secondaries out and the usual talon marks ,got another two that night and two awol . Can't see this sport of ours sustaining this ,getting worse year on year come on RSPB get yer act the gither.
  9. Seen my first one just the other day , was in Majorca Monday to Wednesday seen plenty of swifts ,thought to myself are they staying here or are they just stopping off before carrying on North ,maybe even up to Scotland . Oh and loads of small birds ,not like here still hardly any about .

    Why

I've got to agree with Peter here ,well on the basket training , I've said since I took my race controllers job on that if there's a chance of a race we go end of , only and only when there doesn't look like any chance I put it back 24 hrs , years ago when I started in y,b racing you had at least one hold over ( never done them any harm at all) as yearlings same again as two same again ,so before they went across the water they prob had 5/6 two nights in baskets eating and drinking , at least the stress of it they prob only had 100 odd mile to get home ,now a days I would be their very first time being fed and watered at a race point and with the stress etc they now have 500/600 miles to get home . This is my honest opinion why a lot don't get home from the big races ,some can handle it some can't.
  14. Spoke to cally there he's only one to come from 14 sent ,so yes seems a good race ,well Malcolm M . And the best in the business Dr evil.look alike .
  15. Just going by the forecasts I was getting ,all we're saying it to clear by early pm , ps I'm only as good as my last race ,next week the hang mans noose might be out lol. And to clear something up its MULLAN not Mullen . I've been called Miller ,Milne Milen,Mullen, mullin,Mullins, and some I can't post on here over the years . But it's def MULLAN .but cheers anyway lads
