I spoke to a fellow race controller on Monday morn and said exactly what would happen he agreed 100% .A few 1st day birds and the rest washed down . I remember when I was on the committee we paid a pro for weather info . And Jock Alston was controller . Although a very odd occasion the weather man got it wrong . But that wasn't the norm . Time to do it this way again I'm afraid .

Why is it that we get great racing from Ypres yet from alencon area is kek ? My opinion and it is only an opinion is that peregrines line up along the coast (nest) for their feed , go round the corner into Belgium area and its much flatter in England where the birds cross (maybe not so many bops) birds get into the uk and have a better chance of homing . Maybe racing further on that line might help . Anyone agree ? Or disagree ?

Not having a dig Colin , some were saying a Cnut of a race others saying it was a good race , I'm in the middle , never had any away nothing good enough to send this year so won't send just for the sake of it . And a very big well done to all that timed and hope more turn in tomorrow and the next few days . A small convoy birds have to think for themselves for most of the way .so it takes special birds to do this .

Going up at 5am would give the guys in north a good chance of getting birds on night ,but waiting till 7am ish only the south guys have a realistic chance on the night .

Not against mid day libs but would agree up first thing is better for all ,first thing meaning 5 am /5-30 at latest .

There's always other home that don't get phoned in , some with second third birds etc ,so would say about 25% home is it a good race ?

Update the guy that had 14 away actually had 3/14 last night . That's they sprint pigeons Kevin , 25 miles from Coatbridge to the port , lol.

Spoke to John Callan lesmahagow around 9pm last night he had 10/15 ,he was happy with that others that I know of next to me were 0/6. 0/6. 0/14. . It was a very strong west north west wind yesterday and all last night . So birds through here got it sore .

It says in book checking on day of lib between 20-30/22-00 hope this helps .

The thing is Tam if your winning more than your fair share so to speak then tounges start to wag , I've heard the stories this ones at it that ones at it ,Happened to my mate joe oribine port Glasgow was supposed to be at it according to some , he was just well ahead of anyone around here(pigeon wise) at that time . I've been in lofts of guys that are supposed to be at it ,once you see the work they put in and the way they keep their pigeons then you are correct just jealousy .

Just thinking the same thing Charlie ,looks very like the stuff we used to use in my old club ,it's a waxy string if I'm right , you can't pull it till it snaps u must cut it .
