it is shorter but only approx 50 miles and the snfc birds are up 2 hrs earlier so the snfc birds should be in an hour before there or there abouts

  16. i have a pigeon reported by a non fancier in a place called downings in co donegal any one on here near this place could pick it up off the woman please .THANX ps i will cover cost
  17. yes mate long gone ,nowadays the birds are more or less just homing instead of racing . sad but fact
  18. cant beleive some on here that think a s/west wind is still a blow home ,it used to be when we raced down the west ,but ypres is in belgium and a west s/west wind is nearly all on the nose ,they will be lucky to do 30 miles /hr today into the west anyway.
  19. its all done at the agm ,we have 3x cockenzie races then 2 from dunbar then 2 from berwick then witton castle ,so its 8 races so we have to start early ,the 3 short cockenzie races have been great to start off the y/birds ,even if you miss one or even two then u can still get them to the 3rd one at only 60 odd miles to me .about 45 miles to the shortest fliers and about 90 odd miles to the longest one ally mac in oban
  20. me too i got my text as well ,great decision to cancel the first y/bird race.far tooooooo risky especially being the first race plenty time to get them on the road .
  21. i might be changing my 10/1 andy just glad no one betted
  22. correct rab but thats a head wind (well nearly) from belgium . i agree with another post the winner could be in( dundee or) the north section .
  23. well 440 miles in a near head wind all the way ,theres no way you will get birds in under 10 hrs ,in fact i'll take bets on it , i will even give you 10/1 hows that mate ? any takers ?
  24. what distance do you fly john ? or to any one in lanarkshire ?
