    Sorry not much help mate,it's a RPRA. job. Lindsay. 1 – 25000 NE370 NATIONAL F C Please report to R.P.R.A, Reddings House, The Reddings, Nr Cheltenham GL51 6RN. Tel: 01452 713529
  6. Started with 40,first one to go went to Percy just above the loft, lost another two early training when another two arrived with broken keels and one with a broken leg, suspect BOP.Training went fairly well after that loosing only another two. One way or the other I managed to get 31 to the first race, loosing 8 which was a good result after listening to other fanciers, except one ,who was starting to annoy me.2nd race sent 23 dropped 10 with three others returning injured.Another BOP strike while training two missing one injured, left me reeling and decided that's enough. The odd one has turned in and my team now stands at 21 most been 80 mile and at the moment racing the skies like idiots.Time to keep them in and get the darkies through the moult. What Next

They've just about got Joe public brainwashed already,If they keep hammering sh** like that to them they'll believe that aswell. As for Blackpool your CORRECT mate, our backs against the wall with the RSPB .YBS. and BOP money is needed to sort the sport out sooner than later before there is no sport at all. Lindsay

  9. Hi Peter, reading through your post, household bleach,I totally agree with it,an ex local fancier who could hold his own in the best of company was an avid user and advised many lads to use the same when other remidies failed. Not learning youngsters to drink I have my doubts about and your reason not drinking in the transporter to reduce the chance of YBS ??.I would think that not drinking especially during hot weather would loose more youngens than the onset of YBS. Drinking or not YBS is a virus and I would have thought airborn. If they are going to get it they will. There must be another reason somewhere as to why some get it and some don't. Just my opinion mate,I might be completely wrong, but untill someone sorts a vaccine or some other treatment to sort this lot out I'm affraid that pigeon racing is on a downward spiral. If a fancier doesn't get it good luck to him/them but before long he/they will have no one to race against. Good luck to all you fanciers and good returns, unfortunately I'm a fancier who gets YBS every bloody year, maybe I'll try the domestos treatment, what have I to loose. Lindsay.
  10. You'll manage Steven, nowt like being confused mate. Lindsay.
  11. A bit of not too deep reading for anyone interseted. Lindsay. http://www.pipa.be/en/newsandarticles/ask_the_vet
  12. Not so bloody crazy Stuart,I think it's a good idea my young birds were ok. till they started to be mixed with other fanciers birds on training tosses. The hardest part would be convincing fanciers and federation officials. Then there would be the policing of the transporter to keep low life from stealing. No not so crazy at all, whether it would work who knows till we try it. Lindsay
  13. I think if you don't treat during /after ,the birds that survive might pass on to their offspring some type of imunity but then again if you don't treat and the birds get ecoli you can bin them because in my opinion they will die if the get it bad enough. My birds had YBS early on in the season and right away I treated for ecoli, the results was no dead birds and a fast return of appitite. 14. How far have they been trained, what type of terrain are they flying, how old are they, when training have they been coming in a flock or broken up,have you plenty just incase of a bad toss and can you rely on the weather.Years ago it would have been no problem, now fanciers are loosing well trained pigeons from 50 mile. You pays your money you take the chance these days. Lindsay

  22. Thanks for info on garlic IB,I'm now more confused than I was before. Does this mean one reasonable sized garlic segment crushed/litre of water or more,if feeding chickens I presume they are given the ration 7 days a week. Any info on GSE dosage would be appreciated. Moss is one thing that will knock your pigeons sideways and have found the pigeons usually eat it when they have a problem,to make it worse I think It aggrivates the problem. Looking for this. http://www.organicvet.co.uk/
  23. Hi DEZ, welcome to the site mate, great site, enjoy it.
  24. I'll go along with that Davy, especially picking about.I think medistan is the same as nystatin only cheaper and available in the UK.
  25. I would say 40/50% of the lads in my area have had enough this season and thrown the towel in. We've had four races in our fed and some serious losses, could be alsorts of excuses poor training ,birds not fully over YBS but one for definate BOP.Our races have been seen heading towards Black Coombe and just milling about not wanting to run the gauntlet. My youngens had at least twenty tosses by myself and further tosses with a local transporter going within ten mile of the first race point I never lost a bird training but had a few injured, lost three by BOP over the loft and sixteen racing, two reported dead two back in boxes and two returned a week late, probably brought nearer home by some good fancier. The Fed just South of ours. Again had a real hammering, one fancier comes to mind and a very difficult man to beat 73 away 50 missing on the night from their first YB race. Lindsay.
