Hi Tony, I always believe in letting people do their own thing,I used to love channel racing, you could send six get five on the day and with a bit of luck the other next day,now you can send six, might get one and might get another the next day. Can't see any point in it now but there are lads who like the water so I never vote against water races because I don't race.I would like to see young bird racing when the water races are on ? Same with young bird racing/averages let them chase the glory, most lads round here are finished for the season after three or four disasters ? good luck to the lads who are still racing the bad race points are still to come ? If you've got to breed a hundred young birds to fly the season then I can honestly say I won't be flying a full season,I don't breed young birds for the glory, where's the glory in loosing 60/80 young birds ? This season thanks to my mate and his lad some of us have had the best training ever and I enjoyed every toss, looks like that will be the norm. from now on.Even a mid week club racing 70 mile every week.Enjoyment not punishment. Everyone to their own,the old days have gone,I can bring to mind my late father shouting they're here and probably 100 + birds diving into various lofts in the village, now you get one and wait ten minutes looking for more.
