As far as I know there are no rules to say you have to have a smart meter unless it stipulates so in your new contract when you joined OVO energy. Basically tell them that you don't want a smart meter until it becomes law.What the are trying to do is save on meter readers or save an incorrect meter reading.IF you do decide to have one fitted ask if you get a free day once once a week,my eldest lass gets FREE lecky on Sundays.Also ask if the tariff is the same with or without. I have both meters fit and to be honest,there's no problem,took about a hour and a half to fit them. Good luck Sue.
