There are far to many problems now regarding the keeping of pigeons 1 costs 2 jealousy,backstabbing 3 lack of support from others 4 problems with neighbours 5 Hawks,cats,rats,mice 6 losses 7 time involved to spend with pigeons 8 transport 9. weather Every week in the pigeon press there are fanciers finishing up or passing away this sport is in decline and I am afraid in the future it will only exist on a laptop computer game

In this day and age Feds need to amalgamate to keep costs down due to declining membership

Many years ago there were very few pigeon products on the market and very little was known about medications/antibiotics but the pigeons thrived and seemed to have a very good natural immunity then all the so called wonder products and medications arrived from the continent under the banner that the top fanciers swear by these and there success was due to there use, now we seem to have birds that are hard to keep healthy without the need to treat, we now seem to have created a culture were many feel you need to treat to prevent your birds from sickness.

Does anyone want to borrow some well bred birds ( 10-12 ) that were intended for stock purposes but due to limited space I would be prepared to loan them out for the season, PM for details but no time wasters please

Some auctions will do well some will only go for the £40 starting bid it depends on who the vendor is and if the birds are in demand

I would not treat birds unless they were actually ill giving so called preventative treatments in my opinion weakens the birds own immune system

I have kept both racers and show racers I have also judged both types but it comes down to on the day judging birds on condition, however I would be able to pick out a dipped bird, maybe racing classes should be for birds that have taken a club position in a race and proof of the race result sheet to be sent with the entry form

I think it was meant to vote for one of the birds numbers in the online show

Has anyone raced the Cooreman pigeons are they sprint or distance birds

It does not matter about the age of the entry only the colouring,quality,shape and condition of the bird that should count in the showpen

If a fancier has been giving this guy birds it seems strange that the birds are from different unions and possibly if true a stray catcher who also should be reported
