If this whole Brexit thing goes ahead what are the implications for Channel racing? What was it like back in the day before we joined the Euro, can any older chaps share their thoughts and experience? If there saying it’s going to take cargo a lot longer to reach and depart, would that potentially mean more paperwork and more time delays and pigeons in the baskets for longer? Could this potentially re ignite North Road racing within the UK?

I don’t think that’s a fair comment to be honest about breed of the day. He’s been phenomenal since the 80’s both himself and his birds going to other places and doing damage in different countries etc. His family can’t be classed as a fly by night or a fad strain like many others. He seems to have always kept his family as “pure†as possible with not many introductions and has created a family in the truest sense. The pigeons in the auction are over priced I’m not denying that. But anyone who would take 6 YB’s from Louella over 6 yb’s from Gaby would need their heads examined. I’m not saying Louella has terrible pigeons, no doubt they have some phenomenal pigeons. But I’d say pound for pound the winners via Gaby would massively outweigh Louella any day of the week.

Hi Del, ply wood cost is ridiculous these days. Especially for the heavy gear. Do you know of the app/website called “Shpock� That’s your best bet mate or eBay. A lot of these big building projects for new developments always seem to have an excess for sale. That’s where all mine comes from.

you can buy the old/original gear if your a farmer or countryman/professional apparently. the new mickey mouse gear from the shops is called, creoseal.

Creosote, love it or hate it? Hear a lot of old time flyers proclaiming its benefits. Many a loft report mentions either using it to paint the loft or having bowls of it around or under the loft to deter vermin. A top fed man near me swears by lashing it under the loft in the mud/ground to deter vermin. Hear a lot of the old school soaking beer mats in it for under nest bowls.. Fallacy/myth or is it the real deal?

The depth and strength of City is unreal. Out of 7 of their subs at least 5-6 would walk into any other premiership teams first 11.

Spurs huge under dogs at 4/1. Fancy City to win ultimately ,but both teams to score at 6/10 looks decent value. Can’t see a Spurs win but don’t think they’ll be the push over the bookies have them marked as.

The guy was just trying to start a debate during the off season. An interesting topic and no doubt we all use different stuff. But like all the other threads lately the poster gets shot down. He never mentioned jabbing or any necessarily harsh chemicals. Anyone nowadays who claims to treat for nothing is either a liar or down the bottom of the result sheet imo.

A race from Leeds. Whereby guys from Scotland are racing South and guys from southern England are racing North. So for example maybe Leeds to Lanarkshire is 200 odd miles, Leeds to Essex is 200 odd miles. Has anything like this ever happened? If so what was the outcome?? I've heard older fanciers talk about a club racing from any direction picking the race point from a hat (not sure if this is myth or a truth). But genuinely curious
