Stuart , the problem with checking for viruses, it would cost £100's for 1 test(or that is what it was approx when I was working for individual testing) I had heard of a fancier who had youngsters die overnight, sent them for testing, to be told they could find nothing wrong. Before those results came back I told folk what the answer would be as they would not normally send them to a virology laboratory for further tests. What I think is required is to test for avian viruses with a virologist not a vet to find what this/these viruses are. This would require major funding. Cheers John b

When I was working I borrowed data loggers, which recorded every minute and used it a couple of times. I could tell you when the driver stopped for his supper and when he arrived at race point, as the temperature increased drastically. I believe even with the Geraldys against wicker baskets there would be no difference in heat within the baskets /crates when the the transporter stops. Yes with the newer crates in Geraldy there is 3sides for drinking, but look at the NFC And the Midland National over the last few weeks they have also suffered bad races and that's with Geraldy and similar designs. I personally believe it's a combination of radars from the major airports down that side of the country and the knowing fact of the huge Perigrine population around that area . It's a known fact at between 5am and 6 am planes are stacking up waiting to land at 6am at Gatwick and Heathrow as that's the earliest they are aloud to land .What ever happened on Saturday had very soon after liberation

Recommended by management -race programme. Race programme to be set for 5years.Does that mean if status quo is passed it will also be set for the 5 years. HOD- can't see any problems of the times we have at present. Over the last few years not many birds are tied in. I had 1 this year and I would vote against the proposal. 23 hour rule - committee have had to do something to cover this NOT been adhered to the last 2 seasons!!!
