i think its so mad to see -free stock birds great offer and all you get is people asking for strains and pedigrees i think its nuts, if i like a bird its because a- i like the look of it b-i like how it handles and then i worry about strains and pedigrees !

if its a racer x tumbler then its a rumbler!

i use shavings when its damp ,after i scrape the lofts i find it dries the place out just a few handfulls it goes into corners and the drinker but i dont think its a big deal lc

are west sussex rollers a flying breed in there own right or a strain of roller?

hi iam trying to breed feathered legged racers as well, i got a hen last year with outstanding feathered legs i bred 6 from her lost one to the hawk and have 5 left ,there feather legged as well but none as good as there mum.i was thinking of breeding one of the young cocks back to her ,but everyone advises only to inbreed to cocks so i dont no, but all the best with your breeding mate lc

hi i started with Turkish tumblers in April with four beautiful pigeons i put them in a 6x4 loft ,since then on many occasions thEy have stayed out all night this night included. ive tried to ration there food to no avail thEy still mess about last month i had to kill one as it went bad overnight the same thing has happened again with another Sunday night ok tonight hunched up and at deaths door and now one cock cannot fly for tumbling and cannot make it from the hut to the roof its incredible iam left with four and i think i will call it a day with them regards LC

hi there every year i buy one or two pigeons from pieter kos and every year i try to beak them and i never see them again.i try everything to try and keep them in homing cages etc etc but they always fly of with only two exceptions so far .i am now convinced these pigeons have never been outside a loft before ,my newest one had a ets ring which made my think that he had been out and he was a cracker but yet again i was wrong,every pigeon i have lost has had a address ring on its leg as well which is annoying so thus closes my rant

hi ive been reading about roller kit boxes. i read about someone who had a 4x4 x30inches box and kept 20 rollers in it. has anyone done this and how did the birds get on , my first thought was overcrowding but i dont no a lot about rollers so i would be interested in your comments thanks. lc

excuse me for asking did you get these pigeons on birdtrader as theres always ads for white racers on there? and iam thinking thay could be from the feather merchant who had a stall in blackpool selling white racers among others . lc

hi there if someone is not in a union can he not use these rings if he intends to sell young birds or maybe join a club in the future and race birds or even show .if the saudi rings are legit i dont see a problem. lc

get yourself the biggest tom cat you can get ,give him the message the pigeons are not for catching , he will claim the back yard as his sovereign territory and keep all other cats away honest this works !

hi every year i see a stall at blackpool -goodyear jansens i never see them in the bhw reorts so are thay any good as i no his buses aint. lc

i was in henrys lofts 13 years ago the droppings were 18 inches high at least i kid you not they were not well cared for birds , also if anyone has seen the birds he donates to blackpool show you can see there poor looking theres better outside in the street! a real fancier wouldnt donate such but hes not a real fancier, but he does no how to turn a buck ,but in saying that he aint forcing people to buy his birds either lc

henry is a nice man but his birds aint worth £30 he never ever won a race in irvine club or a diploma of any kind ,hes a feather merchant. also the bird he timed in the 1000 mile race lionheart was bought from a local fancier who was packing it in.the other 2 may have been bred by him . so in closing henry has made a fortune selling pigeons for 30 years and is not even a fancier so keep your money and buy of bird trader you will have a better chance lc
