  1. she was not in a box peter she was in the corner of the loft on the floor hope she builds as high this year going for her silver award lol
  2. if it starts pulling your team down andy id give it to the first lorry driver going south and give it 50 miles on its own if it gets home race it and see how it goes but dont let it out with the team only a matter of time before the rest want down to could it be it can see its hen from outside the loft and is just to keen if so let the pair out when the rest are in if you can and he may fly with the hen just a thought pal
  3. forgot about the vermin walt
  4. deff derek much better for me with the shredded paper in the baskets and a good lad to clean my loft out

  6. sorry to hear this tam like dell ive had it over 20 years but work around it but can understand why your calling it a day atb for the future and take care
  7. take the hen away for a day then put her back in chris if there not glad to see each other split them up most of my hens take 14 to 16 days to lay some guys have birds that lay in 7 not mine they are all different but theres time yet for her to lay some pairs just dont hit it off or they have there eye on another partner and take much more time to accept each other and will only pair in there own time atb with them
  8. mines is changed a month before racing every year alan i spray the floor with bleach and put the new bale on top by changing it each year you help keep the dust down as it breaks up with time and use but both ways work m8
  9. come on guys get the finger out and get this sorted
  10. got you now why dont you give them a bell and ask them
  11. tells you on the bottle
  12. ive had the same problem with the stalks and big nests but find if i take most of the nest away after they are sitting a few days they dont rebuild so problem solved the yearling hen jenna had built a nest of twigs almost two foot high and was the reason i sent her to clermont national and was 11th open not because of the size of the nest but for the effort she put in to get the twigs
  13. i have a few like this have them down as strawberry mealy
  14. the birds sitting for 20 days keeping them warm will make the yolk paler imo i always check them at 3to 4 days if the blood spider is not there the eggs are empty but ive found in the past few years that if you hold a just layed egg up to a light and you can see a small circle the size of your finger tip they do not hatch i think this is the embryo im seeing and when the egg is fertile the embryo is spread around the inside of the egg shell and you dont see it till the birds have been sitting 3to4 days ive never had one that has hatched when seeing this circle on the fresh egg but having a few very old stock cocks ill pay more attention this year
  15. poor nan what suffering lol have a great night you two
  16. done
  17. if you dont have an empty section you can put them in let them both out on there own for wee half hour before you let the rest out or after you bring the rest of your birds in that will give them the time alone to do the deed and should sort it pal
  18. that would be my guess andy
  19. i have the old 20 year old direct son of de barcelona and lady wegan in the empty latebred section as his legs are so stiff he can hardly walk he was looking a bit sorry for him self so two weeks ago i put his greatgrandaugter in beside him to keep him company and must say he picked up a bit the hen is a latebred carrying five nest flights could not believe when i went to feed them this morning they have an egg not expecting them to be full but might try the artificial insemination again the one i got by doing this last year turned out a cracking young cock now called semi lol
  20. many things can cause this andy being bullied is no one not getting piece to tread because of a dominant cock or hen taking to long to lay and cock gets fed up and has not tread her on the day or days she is most fertile
