  7. deff agree with all you have said here owen if convoyers tell us that birds are being attacked at race point we know its not there fault nothing they can do about it there job is hard enough but if they tell us we can move to different race point next time but this is just one of many problems i fear

  13. im on a course of antibiotics for an underlying infection on reading the leaflet with the tablets which are amoxicillin it says it can be used to cure typhoid and paratyphoid which is caused by the salmonella bacteria food for thought and amoxicillin is your cure which you can get cheap from your vet if your worried about it but prevention is better than cure imo
  14. thanks alex interesting so in the event of a holdover were the birds shunted into a sideing and the guys left with the birds till it was clear to lib then
  15. in those days who controled the race and who looked after the birds in a hold over did fanciers go with the birds or was this stuff all left to the railway just wonderd
  16. think id have to have more traps about the place piece of mind hope thats the last of them for you m8
  17. like pat i have perspex up on the stock lofts when breeding early to keep the chill factor down but the racing sections are wide open with dowls amost half way up the front of the loft imo you dont get false condition on the birds when the lofts open as long as its dry and they will improve naturaly as the weather heats up and be in better condition for the longer races in the summer months and i dont want my birds to peak to early but everyone has different ideas also i have pigeon lung so a closed up loft is no good to me
