The life of a good racing pigeon is no more than 2 to 4 years hard racing gone are the days of lofts full of 2 3 4 year old for racing so to me the only way to race pigeons is to have them tested every 4 weeks when racing and before pairing up & if thay need something thay will get it life of a good racing pigeon is to short to worry about immune systems I would go that way with stock doos not racers but I would never treat blindly in any case

After the race in season is finished doos should not be giving anything apart of fresh water and clean grub and grit anything not coming up to scratch should be pout in the bin there week and will go down early next season not unless you have a bad outbreak of something then you're in trouble for breeding and racing the next year always look at the back of your doos if the mat is tight and no marks your birds have had a good moult cheers all the best
