Our club all birds MUST be jagged at least 30 days before racing starts . This year it was 35 Days I jag 90% of birds in club when I'm jagging the old birds all the members are done on the same day stock old birds the lot only 2 members I don't jag and they're trusted 100% Our members are expected to have there birds well trained before racing starts .if not why not we put on enough training races for them 3. Members didn't go to the first race because they admitted they hadn't enough training If any bird going through marking on a Friday has something wrong with it it dose not go no ifs no buts no maybes there has never been an argument about anyone's birds not going through . They know the rules Our young birds are jagged together same day all birds over 14 days at least 30 days before racing starts club rule Anyone that breeds lates is strongly advised to keep them with old birds not to let them mix with young bird race team and they will get jagged after racing ends Our baskets on return from race are cleaned and sprayed not to be set up before a Wednesday they are sprayed again then shavings added Cancelled race baskets sprayed with shavings in raked then sprayed again Any member not happy with rules is more than welcome to find another club All members are allocated a job to do and are more than happy to get on with it When our panniers are waiting to be collected if anyone sees a bird that dose not look right it gets taken out basket ring taken and chucked up In the past we have other clubs birds from panniers and sent them back in boxes The biggest problem with federation s is small clubs with ghost members to make up the numbers only 2 or 3 members sending letting anything go through on marking night just to make the numbers up Our clubs first race 6 members sent 187 birds losses 3 birds 2nd race 9 members sent 287 birds 7birds lost 2 birds injured We will no doubt have a bad race or 2 at some point But it won't be through our members doing the best they can for our birds
