  1. Just to let fanciers know that 17 pigeons were collected up between our two clubs and will be on the waggon tonight. Sorry I have no numbers but hope members will be pleased when they get home tomorrow.
  2. Perhaps the man in Beverley could get it to Tony Meek our convoyer in Hull and he could bring it to Dunbar with the YNRF birds. Let me know if you need Tony's telephone number.
  3. York birds try either 01904 412787 or 01904 411091 Leeds - Geoff Farrar is secretary of Swillington club 0113 2826662 Perhaps with the Guisely bird there may be a way to get it to YNRF President Colin Craven - his number is 01943 878405
  4. Where's the one in York? YNRF have a club in York - can let you have the telephone number of the secretary to try arrange to get it on our transporter if that's any help?
  5. My neighbour has got another in this morning so two just from our lofts. Truly hope we manage to gather up as many as possible for you. Katie x
  6. No problem; despite my sign in name I'm actually a female fancier!!!!! I'm keen to do all I can to help get the birds home knowing how it feels when you loose your own pigeons.
  7. The Yorkshire North Road Fed can help with getting birds up to Dunbar this weekend; if any UNC fanciers can get pigeons to Thirsk for Friday night they can have lift up on our transporter.
  8. If you can get it to Thirsk it can have a ride up with the Yorkshire North Road Fed this weekend when they race from Dunbar.
  9. The Lanarkshire Fed have had a real disaster including fanciers reporting returns like 3 back out of 90. I spoke to a fancier today who started the season with 60 yb and currently has 6 sitting in his loft. The Yorkshire North Road Fed are racing from Dunbar on Saturday and our convoyer has agreed to take back all the Scottish pigeons that can be gathered up across the area and they will be collected by the Scottish lads. We know of birds across the region so if you could get these birds to YNRF collection points for Friday they will get a ride back to Scotland. Clubs in the YNRF: Harrogate, Killinghall, Swillington, Beeswing, Huby, Thirsk, Topcliffe, Cawood and Scarborough. Our convoyer is from Hull so there may also be a way to get any Scottish pigeons in Hull back up North. I believe Mick Brennan is bringing some birds down from Teesside to Wendy Jeffries who sells corn at Thirsk so I'm sure would help should you be able to get birds to him. Alternatively please drop me an email and we'll do all we can to get these poor birds back home.
  10. Any word on the GYA at Peterboro?
  11. Craig, your loft and veg plot are truly amazing! We used to grow veg, podded peas being my favourite but the pigeons used to eat them before me!!!
  12. Yorkshire North Road Fed 6.30am Light West from Alnwick
  13. Yorkhire North Road Fed up from Fraserburgh at 7.45am in a Light SE wind. Hull Fed libbed at 7.30am also from Fraserburgh. Good luck to everyone.

    lerwick

Having raced from Lerwick the weekend before last I wholeheartedly wish these little birdies all the best of luck. Although the South roaders may fly further the North Sea is far more a daunting task than the English Channel. Good luck to one and all. It's fine and sunny now in North Yorkshire although didn't get out until about 3pm so I hope the weather won't defeat them.
  15. We're at Berwick racing down into North Yorkshire and even our cat won't go out at the moment the rain is so heavy! It will need to improve 100% before it is fit for racing.

  19. Lerwick for the Yorks and Linc birds 6.30am, Moderate NW. Good luck to all.
  20. Keep waiting for the Elgin birds; we have 10 out of 12 from Thurso into Yorkshire so the birds are on their way.... Good luck.
  21. What's it like around the Borders? Hoping the Thurso birds have got down this far! How strong is the wind; wondering how much help they will get? Still raining at Thirsk!
  22. Lets also remember how important a role pigeons served assisting the troops.
  23. Back to Winter in Thirsk! Cold, wet and generally a morning to stay inside! Birds are meant to be racing from Thurso so looks slim chance of a race at this point in time.......
  24. YNRF up at 7.15am from Berwick in a LSE.
  25. Did the GYA go from Clermont too?
