  6. 7 training tosses this week up to twenty mile, yesterday released and got home not a feather! first birds arrived 1half hour later then the rest stayed out, next morning all back with one tail and wing feathers missing, claw holes in the breat meat, So looks like they got unlucky that last toss and got hit hard. in my experiance that bird is usless now as it will never race after being mauled like that.
  7. RIP Iron Lady, no matter what happened good and bad, Respect.

    Ybs Flying

I would get them swabbed and see if there is an underlying issue with them, give yourself peace of mind.
  9. Got 6 spares on open loft to start training next week weather pending for the 27th, 30 cocks and hens not even been out flying yet.
  10. That report is a mirror image of my schedule so far, been a nightmare really, all pairs down and hatching now for the next week so should get better, got a small team of widowhood hens that are on open loft for the first two races but the cocks havent been out yet with the weather down here like it is, foot of snow on the loft.
  11. A scum bag thats who, and if they are found out they should be banned from keeping all animals - period. We love our Pigeons and during there life get the respect they deserve, Peta shouldnt paint all flyers with he same brush. None of us should put up with that kind of sh**.
  12. Peta or something like that, pathetic really, leftist do gooders who havent got a life. All the cruelty in the world and they start on our hobbie where most people respect, care & love their birds, Someone in the fancy needs to step on this before it gets out of hand with the rest of the public.

Five miles is safe for me also to start, So why is it when I have jumped them in the past I have had losses from say a 20 - 40 mile jump? last year was bad.

    Hahahahahahahahahah
  19. Not sure if concentrating on getting young people involved is the right way to go as the amount of time needed and resources to win is very high, I think we should be looking for new members in the late 20's or 30's once they are settled down and looking for something to do in their spare time, I started with Pigeons at the age of 32 after keeping budgies etc (never handled a pigeon before) and its the best hobbie ive ever had, I think its very difficult to get new members involved but the fancy really needs to look out of its bowl of hereditary fanciers to survive, they are out there but we just gotta find em. Paul.
