  1. There are a few doing ok in the North East with them, Herron & Son for one and I think it was BELL & WORMLEIGHTON who won 1st and 3rd UNC with a Frans Zwol
  2. Some top quality on offer for sure, i am pretty sure Queen Mary will go well past 10K, as she should. what would she make on Pipa?? I reckon if sold by a big Dutch/Belgium name it would be close to £200K
  3. I will try mate, How are you keeping?
  4. Some good food for thought and some common sense is required, especially like last weekend when the heat is combined with east in the wind.
  5. Sorry for the very late reply on this, i have only just seen this topic. The Frans Zwols are winning at the highest levels all over the UK both pure and crossed for novices and experianced fanciers a like. below is an example of some of the big winners since 2017. 2017/18 major winners with the Frans Zwols bloodlines include the following: 2x1st open BICC National, 2x1st open BBC National, 4x1st open Welsh Nat, 1st open Scottish Nat. 2x1st Combine north rd including at 510 Miles, 1st Combine south rd, 1st Amal, 1st UNC, 3x2nd open BICC, 2nd open BBC, 2x2nd open Welsh Nat, 2nd open Scottish Nat. 2 x 2nd Combines. Plus many other top results in National, combine and fed levels. Including results like first 5, 10, 17 & 20 at fed level. In 2019 the frans Zwols have begain to dominate in national racing adding another 3 x 1st open BICC nationals wins(Falaise, Gurensey and Agen 530 miles) 1st section 2nd open National flying club, 1st mid Antrim combine, 1st Combine Thurso 500+ miles, 3x3rd open BICC, 3rd open NIPA, 2nd and 4th section NFC (same pigeon in two races) 2x2nd and 2x3rd open Northwest grand national (Same two pigeons mother and son) plus scores of club and fed winners along with many other top combine and national performances including 56th open International Agen 22,000+ birds. plus 1st and 3rd open Breeder/Buyer these two pigeons winning £7,000 between them.

  7. welcome back mate - good to hear of someone coming back rather then just losing members
  8. Frans Zwols are as fast as anything I have found but have the added bonus of also being able to win from 500 miles

  12. Hi mate, Mark Gilbert has them as do one or two others they are proper long distance birds and ones to watch for in the coming years in the UK IMO John
  13. Strain/famillys depend on what distance you want to race at IMO Lambrechects or SVR 0 - 250 miles Frans Zwols - 100 - 400 miles Rutz & Son for long distance racing
  14. yes they still fly in my fed but have shut down the stud side. thanks john
  15. Thanks Wiley our birds have raced very well this year in y/bs alone we have won 4 x 1st club, 4 x 1st open (fed) on the south rd plus lots of 2nd 3rd etc also Prov 14th & 15th open L&secc from Vire and 9th open Bicc National from Gurnsey On the north we only started with 7 y/bs for the north still have 6 left after 5 races they have won 1 x 1st 1 x 2nd 2 x 4th 2 x 5th etc thanks John
  16. I agree Wiley that is why we do race both inland and across the water and even a small team on the north rd for y/bs 2012
  17. As a very small stud i do not think in this day and age people can get away with spin with out any substance in the pigeon game, once these types of pigeon forum's started the truth always seems to come out....... we pride ourself on being a racing loft first and foremost and the selling side is secondary our main aim is to get better pigeons for us to race to do this we sell birds and reinvest the money into new birds to replace the ones which did not make the grade. we have got rid of many birds which we have paid £1,000's for which have not made the grade (to the big loft in the sky)last winter was the first time we have sold old birds which we have bred from and these were old stock birds which we just did not have room from after breeding birds from them and also buying in new stock, we will be doing the same again this winter some of these have bred national winners. However i agree time is a factor in people success but having worked 12 - 14 hour days 5 days a week and having to go away for work at short notice with very little help (until this year) i still held my own. i think the most importnat thing is health without health the rest does not matter you will not ,once you have health you need good pigeons (BTW good pigeons normally have good health)then time, money and general pigeon sense comes into play. But i honestly think if you have health and good pigeons you have a decent chance to win races.
  18. we brought 28 Lambrechets direct last year and have raced y/b's from them for the first time this year must say we have been very impressed with them winning 2x1st club and 2x1st open (fed) in 4 races. plus other positions
  19. Sorry for very late reply but not been online much, I have the Frans Zwols and can say they are very good birds indeed which are winning out of turn in top competion. This season our first full year flying the Zwols starting with a few yearlings and after 4 y/b races we have won 4x1st club and 4x1st open (Fed)Plus many other top positions flying in a club which can boast some of the top flyers in the South east with a least 8 national winners also 6th open BICC and 10th open BBC all with the Zwols (BTW we have won other races with other bloodlines as well) These are just our 2012 results with the Zwols we also won with them as Y/B's last year Also Stuart Wilcox has had super results with the Zwols out to national level cheers John
  20. hope to see you there
  21. Anyone going to the show this weekend?
  22. The Frans Zwols birds made good money with some lots making £2000 i would guess the average price was around the £600 mark which is not bad for 2010 y/b's
  23. If i had the money i would buy the national winner and his parents LOL Tough call just to buy 1 or the other so i would buy 1 from each
  24. LOL - Thanks Colin Lot 1 is still for sale John
