  1. Hopefully Derek, earliest is always best even if it makes a 2 day race in some places, after all many members can time before work tomorrow
  2. They can't be on the move but it would have been the best option if Maidstone isn't going to clear - just hoping it doesn't fill in - every forecast today showed a 95% chance of lib and no guarantees tomorrow any better - seems just that small corner hasn't cleared but nothing we can do about acts of God best of luck all
  3. phone line said update at midday
  4. hope so too Geordie with birds in basket so long the earliest lib is the best one - if it fills in tomorrow they are back in a basket which no-one wants. Who'd be a convoyer/controller? Hands up! so it will be tuesday for most of us in Ayrshire now either way - that is the way it goes. If its later than 1230 lib very slim chance of a bird tonight (would be 1015 onward) the wether must be very poor at lib site unfortunately
  5. moving days for doing anything is allowed? Birds have been in baskets since Thursday so only lads on the ground can know whats best now - wouldn't envy whatever they do lib line was updated at 1057 saying lib site clearing at 1035hrs next message at 12
  6. the messages were updated until 1pm last 2 days so I think right up until 1230-1pm ish they will go if it clears
  7. 7pm is daylight the birds are moving until well after 10 up here in Ayrshire - (Ayrshire fed winner) will be around the 9hr45min-10hour mark. if the bird are up by 1130 there will be a few in Ayrshire around the 930 mark with another hour of light (midsummer)esp with a clear day and good conditions on route best of luck
  8. So if they don't lib at Alencon by 7am or Tours then they shouldn't lib? Same detail. What if tomorrow doesn't turn out as good? Then what?? The birds must go at the earliest opportunity. You get midday libs at Barcelona. The longer flyers may even profit from a late lib
  9. Same to you Gareth mate , my thinking 10-10.5 hrs the leaders should be - maybe even a little quicker
  10. light until 1030pm in the west and 11pm in the north so the birds can fire on and home on the day no problem geordie. Best of luck if it comes Baz
  11. weather clearing at 1035hrs - sounds like ready to cut the strings, won't be surprised by 1115 or 1130 lib or anywhere in between
  12. cheers John - yep we got 1 from 4 at Newbury strange race for us I think the loft was out of form that day just glad got the good blue cock (his 7th win altho he wasn't with fed or nat leaders) best of luck with the YBs
  13. Nope, I didn't say that but you're quote "it's what we want to fly"? You cannot possibly know what everyone else in Scotland wants. The lads in the far North are flying 400 mile from the so-called "sprint" race - the inland nationals offer something for everyone and are better for giving experience than fed races. As before the Dutch and Belgians (world leaders in our sport FACT) have been racing shorter distance nationals for decades but hey, why move with the times eh? Do you really think Newbury takes birds away from the Alencon birdage ? I'm no sure about that at all. The SNFC make a sight more to keep the club going from Newbury than from Alencon I am sure of that though... I wonder if anyone who sends to Newbury or Maidstone wants Alencon or Tours scrapped ? Not a case of live and let live?
  14. Looks to be an improving picture still have probably 2 hours to get a lib - best of luck all
  15. somebody's after a tuesday lib the orgs over the channel are all away from 630 onwards so the SE must be forecast fine for now-ish and later ..
  16. further update at 11am
  17. Have to wait out now, Ypres plans up the spout for many if we don't get a lib. After last year I don't think anyone will be moving birds anywhere. Can't do right for doing wrong with fanciers. I am champing about birds no being up, another wants them moving and others want transporters back ASAP. Who would be a convoyer?! At the end of the day when we all calm it, the lads there on the ground know whats best for the birds and how conditions are at lib. Look at the other lot, went on Friday and I heard the winner walked it hame Those boys deserve a or two the night that's for sure. Apologies for my earlier rant Kenny Barry
  18. you are right but not in my case- of course the weather on the ground is different from what the forecast and current maps say. That is the source of my comment (only speaking for myself) but now Kenny has been on good to know - it could have been other reasons (ie large batches overhead/in the area) Thanks for the info
  19. Good to know - amazing that all the classic clubs have libbed over the channel to fly into bad weather - frustration getting the better of me. We know you'll do best by the birds Kenny
  20. Yes they don't like the South East and East coast boys no being in from work after the doos come so they're holding and f the North and West fanciers who can wait til dark ......???
  21. Fanciers in the north and west will be over the moon ...
  22. So what are we waiting on now? Every blighter in France is up- missed the boat??
  23. Agree John 377 to us, 10.5 hours will be close to topping our fed Hope ye get a good one! Baz
  24. We'll know when they're due in the west - just wait til the first doos in Edinburgh and add a couple hours Best of luck all in every section - will be a good stiff race and the winning birds will separate from the bunch so the cream will certainly rise in each section/area Baz
  25. sad fact he wasn't working alone Del, the pigeon I mean of course!
