Sounds like a goshawk Rab, you dont want one of those *&*%$£* round the loft they are deadly! There was one here that the doo's seen coming and they vanished. I then saw something that if I hadn't seen with my own eyes I wouldn't believe. The goshawk then started trying to catch house martins, it was like watching the red arrows in a dog fight. Fortunately the house martins won but the agility and speed of the goshawk was frightening! I think it was a juvenile male with not much of a clue!

The ospreys pass over my house every day Stuart. They are often harassed by seagulls that try to get them to give up their catch so you could be spot on pal.
