  4. kinda hard to answer that phil,, they actualy moult all year round,, but the" big" moult usually starts after theve moulted their 6th or so main flight feathers , the moult of these flight feathers usually starts after theve sat on their second round of eggs for more than 10-12 days , so maybe easier to say that in general, the pigeons have their big ,main moult in autumn, nature having it they have their new coats for the winter, at the time of this main, big moult they are better rested then , so that they complete a good moult

  24. ;D ;D ;D thanks paddymac,,, your not far wrong ;D ;D ;D think i was draining the scale pipes ;D ;D ;D but it did bring me back to my youth, catching pigeons on old buildings etc ;D ;D ;D aye, those were the days ;D ;D ;D,,,,,,,,just wondered what the neighbours thought seeing me with a fishing rod at 6pm on a sat night,[their comming to take me away ha ha ;D ;D ;D]
  25. ;D ;D ;D just back with fishing rod and net,[2cnd journey],but no birds ;D ;D missed them must be getting old ;D krankin, is a most decent, lovely, thoughtfull, young lady, non-pigeon fancier , who has genuinly worried over these two pigeons , also met her mum [another young lady ] both very nice indeed and very concerned over these pigeons , a big thanks to them for tending to these birds ,we hope yet to catch them , they seemingly belonged to an old chap who had passed away," r,i,p old fella ", you can see how well he had attended his garden and seemingly had a very small loft and just a few birds as company the birds there were a b bar and a grizzle]
