  5. i like rabs atitude try try try,, with the lanarkshire birds going with the nat[ if],,,,,would be far more economical,,,plus with the amount of birds going to nationals nowadays,,,a little east in the wind the drag of the birds, etc, its quite realistic to think the overall winner could be in lanarkshire , just imagine being 1st club, 1st lanark open and 1st national ,,, goferit rab ;D ;D ;D
  6. not having a go at roland, its every one to their own fancy, i allways beleived in the three c,s condition contentment and control , and have found out in the past , that over crowding is one of the worst things , to achieve this. was just going to mention to jason , why not stick a sputnick on its allways another bit of air space , vents back and front , bottom at front and top at back, would help as well. :)
  7. a half to full sg, metre,,,,,,,depending on ventilation , the length, multiplied by the breadth, multiplied by the height,[ in metres] will give you sq metres [ david palmer, bhw vet, now, sadly passed away]

  10. i think p.h. if you put a bird in bad condition beside all these ,,,yours too ,you would soon see the differance :) all beuties :)
  11. a cracking looking bird with cracking results, and hopefully more to come :)
  12. sorry pigeon scout,,, i was meaning that if you didnt have a yearling that could beat a 3 year old youd be in trouble ,, i was asking ,,,at 500miles? as a 3 year old is just comming in to form for these races then, for 5 and 600miles, but hard to get a yearling to do this as its still not a mature pigeon. as sammy said in his last post many older birds have scored from this distance, as i had one score from avaranches at 9 years old , but he didnt start winning untill he was 3 years old [then scored every year from 5 and 608mile] the old meally surp 63 28228, some of these wins were in the e, of scot continental club where we were further nw than most others included ushervaux race from nantes when beglin bros of bo,ness won it with high noon, but we hadnt joined the national so just raced in the whole open with the n of england and scot, he still got a prize [he scored 9 times in 6 years ,no gold award then ]
  13. they usualy start producing milk after sitting 10 days ,, but i think that proves my point that the obs produce milk by the movement inside the egg, this pair might have just made it,, but try putting two chipping eggs under a bird thats just laid ,, they wont survive , no time to manufactor or produce pigeon milk
  14. must agree with bruno on that one,, there is a thread for this and for the ,,,,,,facts
  15. doesnt sound fair whiteflight, unless a valid reason, but/? [anyway at least the forum knows youve did well],,good luck mate ,,,,,do a double ;D ;D this year ;D speck,ll be charging for these photos shortly ;D ;D ;D
  16. does anyone know of the school in the borders that actualy raced pigeons ,this was a few years ago now, but remember reading it in the paper.. my honest opinion is that pigeon fanciers are bickering too much, sometimes enough to put any new member off ,, i think we could all befreind someone , young or old to catch the bug, i can honestly say i have did this on a regular basis for years in fact just posted a while ago about the chap with the empty lofts , wouldnt start up again because of this ,,,,well he has now ;D ;D ;D , now im trying to convince him to get a computer ;D ;D ;D ,,every member is valuable nowadays
  17. aha,,,brilliant debbie,, see, they allways remember :) good luck :)
  18. h5n1 first reared its head in 1997in hong kong ,,,,nothing whatever to do with spanish flu 1981 pandemic,,,,differant type of flu,, i think we should read peter briants letter more carefully and abide by it,,,,,,,no rumours no scaremongering or well defeat ourselves,, ,
  19. who said sugar ;D ;D ;D
  20. WHAT I WAS TRYING TO SAY WAS THAT WE KNOW THERES A CYCLE, BUT IS THIS CYCLE BROKEN IF THE BIRD SITS ON DUMMY EGGS THEN COMES OFF AFTER 21 DAYS TREADS RIGHT AWAY AND BREEDS AGAIN ,[DOES THIS BIRD CARRY PIGEON MILK]I THINK THE CYCLE HAS BEEN BROKEN [sOUNDS LIKE THE OLD COUNTRY WESTERN SONG ,,,,WILL THE CIRCLE BE UNBROKEN,,,NEARLY BURST IN TO SONG THERE ;D ;D ;D] AS THE MOVEMENT IN THE EGG HAS NOT COMPLETED THE CYCLE IE NO MOVEMENT,, BUT WHEN THE EGG IS FERTILE AND FORMING THE ADULT BIRDS KNOW THIS AND ARE STIMULATED BY THIS AND PRODUCE CROP MILK ,, I REALLY DONT KNOW ,,SENT AN E MAIL TO FIND OUT WELL SEE IF I GET AN ANSWER :) BIG WORDS ;D ;D WEVE HAD REGURGITATED. PONDERED, NOW LIPOGRAM ;D ;D IE THE PAPERS,, BRUNO ;) ;D ,thatll get speck going ;D ;D ;D, didnt realise this was capitals,,sorry
