You see, Im not against anybody earning a crust.KMS are maybe one of the better courier services out there at the moment. The price of fuel etc does force prices up in all businesses, but, the main problem lies with the pigeon fraternity itself. During the season we get our strays returned for £4-5 and as soon as we get into September the costs are 7 fold. This is not the couriers fault, it is ours.( WE ACCEPT IT )We should be continually helping each other with stray pigeons, the Governing bodies could put their heads together and set up a service that helps all pigeon keepers. Even if they put £1 on all union fees, this would help pay some sort of Union Pigeon Courier Service. Food for thought, dont you think?

Now ye are getting *expletive removed* ridiculous, bottom line here is, the maniacs are taking over the asylum. If you went to the first ob race next year and find out that the birdage is up to £10 for the first few races and then up to £20 a bird after 250 miles, how many would ye send. Ye see, I can talk sh/te too

You are the same guys that complain if the birdage goes up 1p Most pigeons arent worth fking £35 and dont kid yourself that they are. How can you all condone these prices and expect to encourage youngsters into the sport.

SPDS charge £12 anywhere in Scotland.Yous guys are giving these couriers the wrong idea. Hes a nice guy, hes a gentleman, hes good to talk to,the company are easy to understand, bullsh/t. My concern is if the pigeon was in good nick, and I am not being ripped off. Who gives a monkey if the guy you are dealing with has a nice manner about him as long as the job he does is competent.I can guarantee you this, if KMS took £12 and turned up at your door like a bear with a sore head, you would still use him ( as long as you got your bird in time and in good fettle )

Not having a go at KSM, just disagree that anybody can say any pigeon courier is value for money these days. Put it this way, if you had a nightmare yb race and lost all your team, if 20 of them were reported then would you have the same opinion on how cheap the couriers are.

Not a great price but at least its another courier we can use.
  9. Could ye bring all the west section yb national doos back doon the road m8
  10. For me, a good pigeon man has CONSISTENCY at the main races and can score at any distance, obs or ybs. An average pigeon man gets a good turn now and again but isnt consistent.
  11. Hi Beth, just as well you arent studying English as your spelling is a bit dodgy ???? Not usual for a student, I would say ??

  20. Its a good competition, I was lucky enough to win it with Stuart Maskames yb a couple of years back. and he was 3rd with mine
  21. Davy, I have 9 SNFC diplomas this year from scoring in 6 of the 7 races. If I was still in section F, I would have about 30 Diplomas because I am sitting in a favourable location for section F. John Harwood hadnt scored in the nationals for many, many years and has only recently hit the headlines because he recognises that he is in a great bit to win his section. Granted, you have to have the birds and expertise to get them going but loft LOCATION is a massive factor in pigeon racing. I am not doubting Davy Elliot as a good pigeonman, this goes without saying, I am saying IMO their are better that dont have a tenth of his diplomas. LOCATION,LOCATION,LOCATION. PS. no one in this section can demand top Open results but people the likes of John McNeil from Broxburn or John Bosworth of Elphinstone do demand top positions every year because they have all 3 components I have spoke about. All we are looking for is to get on the result. PS Sorry for going off topic
  22. Aye yer right, Davy has a great SNFC record flying into the best part of the west section. These words came from the late, great Jock Allan. He said " I often see lots of birds pass me by before I time my own from the SNFC races, even when ive been well up the result. Im undoubtedly in the best area to score in the SNFC west section " Modesty at the highest level, this was a top pigeon man, with good birds in a good area. The 3 components to achieve consistent top results.
