  1. Have a good yin Alan
  2. I am training mine at the moment from 12 miles. They ve been there about 6-8 times now so they will be ready for next year.If they dont train, they go out around the loft.Sparrowhawks chasing them for a couple of hours lets them know what to expect in the coming years and they get wise to it.Some of mine havent thrown a flight , they were that late but they train just the same. They will be expected to compete to 280 miles at least this year coming, no probs.I timed a latebred from Ypres 456 miles in its 5th race of its life so they have either got it or they havent imo.Another 2 yr old latebred timed from 532 miles in its 5th ever race. The bottom line is, I think they need trained in year of birth, no matter if late or not.
  3. Mausi, *expletive removed* unbelievable pigeon.Maybe something to learn here as we in Scotland usually only give 3 or 4 races before the big event.

  8. Heard it was a brilliant night, sorry I couldnt make it.ATB to Joe Murphy for his contribution to the pigeon sport in Scotland.I wish he would reconsider continuing the Challenge as it is a great competition.I was lucky enough to be involved in it twice.
  9. Highs, scoring in the SNFC at Maidstone, Ypres, Alencon and yb Nat.( never lost a yb racing in full season only racing 7) I even got 7/7 into the west in the yb National. Lows, losing my ybs to 5 jets on the first Olympic day.I have 18/62 now and didnt get one until 3 days after toss.
  10. lol, funnily enough, I used to hand bathe my pigeons in a warm radox bath after a hard fly.Watch them sleep like babies
  11. Good point Archie, maybe they are insured to go up the ladders for the liberation and not the loading of baskets, who knows
  12. Nobody really but I know a driver fell off the ladder and claimed Catterill( I think) and they now make sure that no driver or convoyer goes up a ladder to load baskets. Its down to the club members to load them on.
  13. Not a decent avian vet in Scotland imo.
  14. Theres plenty on the KINGSWAY lol
  15. I think its illegal for driver to load baskets now, its all to do with insurance going up a ladder.
  16. I would race the azz off them this year, kept spare until the right race comes along.
