  1. LOL, it isny too far, especially to Larkie.lol.Andrew Deans wanted the Gold cup from Nantes with a midday lib to make it a wee bit fairer
  2. Flexibility is the key for successful racing.Bob,Reims has been a successful race point so why not move to a site in or around Reims that has water facilities?
  3. Treason of the highest order lol
  4. That seems to be the way Lewis, maybe just coincidence but I think the birds mixed a wee bit more helps the final result.I dont know if it lessens drags by a % or not but it seems to help?
  5. Only a Dundonian could post this lol, read all the posts, the north and south were ferried to marking station.Im surprised a member of the present committee isnt wanting central marking back just for security alone. pmsfl
  6. Bathgate was chosen because it was central to the amount of SNFC membership , not centre of Scotland. In FAIRNESS OF COURSE LOL
  7. Exactly, my birds are on 2nd or 3rd flight end july
  8. Everyone seemed to love it Bob, great atmosphere in the community centre at Bathgate. We were there from 12 noon for marking starting at 1pm.We finished at 11pm so folk travelling a few miles is fk all to the work the committee puts in m8.Security is paramount imo ps.Liege and yb national central marking
  9. I agree with this programme Stephen but some will be struggling with moult at 27th July, but wouldnt bother mine personally. Also, this is the best month weather wise of the year.
  10. Definately Lewis, if the UNC can do it, so can we??
  11. Not just central enough lol
  12. We had central marking at Bathgate for the Gold cup in 2001, the result was 7 region winners in top 10 open.Food for thought. The north and south section guys paid someone a fiver each to bring there doos down to the marking. It went very well and another big factor was that the security for the Gold cup was as tight as it could be.
  13. Eastbourne on weekend before Gold cup, status quo on dates and yearling nat 2nd week July. I dont know of anybody using the breaking point and fatigue formula at present BUT it is very evident how unfair pigeon racing is and im sure such a system could be implemented at National level to create a slightly more even playing field. It wouldnt be 100% fair and location would still demand success but it would be maybe 80% fairer and thats alot better than what we have now. John Houstan wrote about it in the BHW several years ago but nothing ever came of it, the reason being, nobody with an advantage wants fairness.
  14. 1.Eastbourne, 2.Reims, 3&4.Tours & Ypres( same weekend ) 5.Maidstone yearling, 6.Clermont 7.yb nat Leicester No section changes as although there are some members lying in favourable and unfavourable positions, changing things wouldnt help in long run. However, imo, the answer is a breaking point and fatigue factor formula, this would mean you dont need sections and you would pool against everyone.Think of the money you could win. Central marking for the Gold cup race and Geraldy transporters used with max 16 birds per crate. ps.The Tours race to be a midday liberation , all birds out.
  15. Thats the gear we all would pay through the nose for.
  16. waste of money imo
  17. Great to have someone to look up to and admire George, your family must be very proud.
  18. expletive remove, read his post, it says negative comments. That means hes not happy does it not?
  19. Im not altogether sure the One Loft Race has to be run by the SHU this time Dougie, but definately food for thought either way. As for the show, its par for the course that the workers in the pigeon sport get dogs abuse.
  20. I do believe home bred pigeons are best for these one loft races.Even look at the Scottish o.l.r , home bred birds won it on a few occasions.Bring back the SCOTTISH ONE LOFT RACE, built and run in Ayton preferably and fly the SNFC yb national as the last race. This gives everyone in Scotland a chance of winning the yb National.Food for thought, eh????
  21. Also 181st with The Car winner, 2/2 all home lol.Piece of pi ss , only 500 km lol
  22. lol, naw hes east
  23. 4th GB lol
  24. Getting the birds through a good moult is my only priority at the moment but later on will have a few loft repairs to do before the breeding season.
