  1. Thanks to APEX GARDEN BUILDINGS and PIGEON BASICS for the sponsorship. Also to all the folk that helped me on the night, Vic Couper, Wullie Strang, Jim Moffat, Clark Spackman, Craig Hay, Harry Conlon, Mick Cairns and Dick Couper.XMAS RACE 2019.pdf
  2. Another decent race, 5/5 here, not in until 11.31 after a nightmare but got 3 together at 39 also. Good race for some considering the weather and lets hope the unlucky ones work in. I hope you lads have enjoyed the Xmas race, its just a pity it wasn't supported as it could be a massive event.
  3. Birds up at 09.30 in a sw wind, clocks at 4pm.
  4. Remember, cash only tonight , so I can pay the prize/pool money out quickly.
  5. Please note, if you have any other ETS than Unikon or Taurus, try and bring the appropriate Unives lead with you to the marking station. Cheers Del

  7. Weather looking good, hoping for a successful race like the last 2 years.
  8. Not sure what vitamin D brand is the best , I’ve started to take vit D3 as well as the normal vit D. I would say the more expensive ones are probably the best, yer doctor will advise.
  9. Aye , no probs m8. I put it on a post on facebook today as well.
  10. A fancier from Edinburgh recently called me to thank me for advice I gave him regarding PFL. I'll give you the short version of the story, he called me 3 years ago reporting a pigeon of mine. He explained to me he was going to give up the sport as his PFL was so bad that he needed oxygen and that the hospital was really concerned about the state his lungs were in. I suggested vitamin D and C, but mainly vit D. He said to his doctor about having his vit D level checked and this was done. It turned out his reading was only 4 when it shouldve been 200. He was put on a double doze but his reading only went up to 50. They upped the dosage again and now, after attending the chest clinic at least once a month he had a letter through the post stating his chest was unbelievably better and he didnt need to attend the clinic for a year. He was ecstatic and phoned me up to thank me. He wears a 'press and check' mask and an overcoat in the loft but has no problems whatsoever with the PFL now. Please ask your doctor about a vitamin D check if you suffer from PFL.
  11. cheers
  12. Just good controlling m8, lol. Fingers crossed m8.
  13. Naw Alan, your ets is fine, someone will have a cable. Not sure if Wullie Strang or Mark Patterson had one last year?
  14. I think it was used last year Alan, it would help if you have a unives cable to bring along to make sure.Im sure we had 5 different systems last year lol.
  15. Thanks George
  16. I need these mobile numbers for the Xmas race, Peter Macintosh and George Finlayson it should’ve read.
  17. Luckily it only affected me and Ian Ritchie as we were the only 2 in the race fae Glasgow. All SHU measured now. If you hadn't given me your measurement yesterday and I checked today I wouldn't have known how far out we were.
  18. Looking at the long term forecast and it looks as if itll be raced on the 7th December, also the end of this week looks perfect for training, good luck folks. Ano, couldn't believe it, that's why I checked mine and Ritchies too lol.
  19. checking distances for the Dunbar race today and discovered that myself and Ian Ritchie had used the RPRA distances last year which are shorter than the SHU ones . It wouldn't have made a difference to the winner last year but may have done me out a few quid lol. My fault entirely so my loss, but its all sorted for this year. ps. Jonesy , you are 79-240 now.
  20. correct
  21. Top pigeon man with great knowledge and experience, well done Mick.
  22. Cheers Andy, not sure if this is the last year though
  23. Top notch
  24. Hes a brilliant doo m8, distance doos are always a different class.
  25. Thanks Archie, its been a very successful and enjoyable race the last 2 years so heres hoping this year is as good. Thanks to the fanciers that have supported this venture and to the sponsors, Pigeon Basics and APEX Garden Buildings, with this sponsorship the race is very appealing and as you can see, very profitable for the prize winners.
