A lot of folk are now breeding later ybs and just training them. This is to avoid YB sickness. Its a short enough season without missing races in my opinion.I cannot understand anybody missing any race ( especially ybs), I think its an excuse because they are pi sh at it.
This is nothing to do with Lanarkshire, im just making a point for all feds.I think nowadays all feds should have a 90-100 mile race every week if possible as well as the normal race program. This would cater for latebreds, training obs for nationals, and injured birds getting started back on the road.It could be run during the week on the best day, Tuesday or Wednesday.
Glasgow fed were knocked back many times Geo, then kirkintilloch were asked to join Lanarkshire, they left Glasgow and were then knocked back fae Lanarkshire . Not the best way to leave a good impression imo. I hope yer right but I doubt it.
It puzzles me why feds dont use Catterick as a race point, Almond valley and Forth/clyde have used it for many years and rarely lose a bird from there. In my opinion, its the best racepoint at the 140 mile mark ive been to in the last decade.
Hi Geo, food at the new loft location only can break yer birds easily.Dont ever feed them at your loft , only the new location, if thats possible.I dont think you can tell if only good ones break easily, some do, some dont.
That mustve been the connection then Brian, I know Jim D was swapping ybs with Alex anyway. Alex also was responsible for the sire of Jimmy Grears Irish Kings cup winner.
cocks sitting short on eggs going to Bedhampton is fine Alan, they dont need anything after that and can be put into the Gold cup with their bodies on the way up.The only problem I see is if theirs a hold over and the recuperation period isnt long enough.
I see it mentioned the late, great Alex Geddes from Glenboig, who flew in the Scottish Midland fed. He was , without doubt one of the best racer/breeders of pigeons in the west section of Scotland.
