Good question Jimmy. I dont think I would've paired them up for this last race on Saturday as running down the road with them training does my head in. For me Widowhood is the only way to race pigeons whether it be cocks or hens. Natural pigeons dont seem to have the edge for me, However time will tell this weekend. Absolutely spot on, because lets face it, this isnt racing when Belgium is timing 24 hours before the south coast of England, its just an endurance test with velocities at 500ypm. Good luck to all those that entered & timed in but you need more numbers to call it RACING>> :B

Exceptional circumstances lads, different if it was 620 miles to 360 miles, but its 440-450 to 360 miles. I,ll bet that the guys who timed early doos from Maidstone have got them back well pooled. The real guys that like a gamble on their doos will no be bothered one bit. Good Luck to all.. ;D

Frank, I,did my own survey on my own birds last year, which were extremely healthy throughout the pre-racing and racing season. The losses were heavier or returns patchy 3 days either side of the high solar flare activity which always seems to occur 1st or 2nd week in August. Hope your findings are successful, good luck Andy ;D Ps:There was quite a high solar flare activity on Thu/Fri past. Any losses????
