  1. they do well grasshopper lofts, they have won well for me and other fanciers who i have bred birds for.......
  2. grasshopper lofts, these are some from louella we bought in the 80s.....as you can see they still look the same as the ones i have today and they also look similar to the one vallance has........
  3. hi grasshopper lofts, as members have already told you the laffy daffy are lefebre-dhaenens which are short to middle distance birds up to approx 350 miles.....and as the game keeper told you are named after corn merchants roger lefebre and daniel dhaenens. tha basic bloodline is desmet-matthys x roger vereecke, with introductions from beulque, m verheye and r verstraete..... and as others have said, they also have stichelbaut in them. i keep this breed myself and my stock are nigel cawood, jimmy richards and louella lines, below is a dark yearling cock bred from stock birds.......
  4. yes you are probably right andy, they still should do more than 5 mins......but if i remember correctly mine did very similar last year and by the time i had cleaned out they had already landed, i put it down to either they were pairing up, moulting or at the time i had changed corn......
  5. didnt know you were training them, my own view is that if they are getting training they wont fly as long at home.....
  6. agree with this, it could be they are overwieght.......or that they are pairing up, as my ybs last year went like this when they were starting to pair up. also found when ybs are in moult they might be sore so dont want to fly much. have the birds ever flown well or has it just started ?
  7. lol....yes too right, if it breeds well or races well it doesnt matter about a frill.......thanks.
  8. so you wouldnt say it was any sort of defect then whitenight, or wouldnt restrict ist racing ability at all.....hope its a throwback to a winner.
  9. thanks cowman, does yours race ok ? wondered if it would be a problem if when racing it flew in rain.....normally the neck is tight and silky and seals from the rain, but with the frill its more open therefor maybe the rain getting in and it getting more wet...???
  10. thanks for the comments hotrod and schouwman71, the breeding of this bird is lefebre dhaenens which i introduced last year with its grandparents....ive had this breed before from similar lines but still never had a frill. still, as you both say....might be a good one.
  11. anyone any opinion about frills on the necks of pigeons, this yb ive bred has one but none of its parents or grandparents have one....could it be a defect in the genes or any other type of defect in its breeding, would it race ok by having this ?
  12. hi ste63home, would agree with rasbull they usually lay about 10 days from pairing....i count the days from when the first egg is laid and it is 19 days to hatching (as rasbull says, 17 from second is right too) and i seperate at about 28 days old although some seperate a few days earlier....but the general rule is when they are fully covered under the wings...

a teaspoon wieghs more than a gram, at a guess a level teaspoon will be about 2 gram.....
  16. Thank you for your answer, do you think the rules of Pigeon Basics apply to every one....or just those in a clique which i am not part of.....
  17. what are you talking about....it is not prescription only....ive had this product off the man and he openly advertises it.....and any way who made you policewoman of the site ?
  18. i will ask again...why would it have got someone into trouble...and there is no need for bad language........so i think ill report you too
  19. oh, right....and why would it have got someone into trouble...?
  20. Thank you Harry, at last someone with integrity and a mind of their own.....ask a simple question on here and all you get is stupidity because they dont want to say why it was removed........
  21. No answer, typical.....
  22. Yes it was, obviously who ever reported it or deleted it darent even give an explanation as to why....a moderator must have done it but why ??? if its for a legitimate reason lets hear it.....
  23. Can someone explain why my reply to fletchlives re respiratory infection has been deleted ? I offered this member information on how to cure his birds with a product that does actually work, so how/why has this offended anyone ?
  24. hope you get them back mate,i know what its like .......ive had the same. ive learned to be always on guard watching all the time for them......try taking your water over in a bucket next time so you dont have to go away from the loft.....
  25. as soon as i wean my ybs into their own section i have the basket in for them, they all huddle togeather in it and you can put a drinker on to learn them what it is and feed in the basket.....they get used to it and are not frightened by it...
