Sent one hen to St Boswells, back safe and well, well of the mark time wise but chuffed to see her. Also had a hen come back this morning from last weeks race, badly cut up by hawk. Glad to see her too.

I was in a stock loft recently that had salt blocks in each section. birds were a picture.

Malky was telling me Alan, we had a good wee blether on Monday or Tuesday. I had 2 from 4 on the day and had hoped to see at least one more on Monday as it was another good day but no sign :-/, then lost one of the two that came mid week, hence i'm down to one now

What about their throat, mouth etc, they are obviosly moist and the air passing through would cause evaporation, could salts be lost there?

Just wondering as my old man was at sea and they were given salt tablets daily when in the tropics etc to replace what was lost in sweat. Al.

Sent 1 hen with Alexandria to st Boswells, 125 mile to me. Wasnt here to see her home last week but will be waiting paitently tommorrow!
