  1. I know what you mean Stuart about the oil based first. My mate is a painter and told me to use the system though. Best thing I have ever used. As I said 6 years on the house and still looks good for a couple more. Al.
  2. I have the sofits and facias round our house done in black, or it might be called ebony. I did them 6 year ago and they are still good for another couple. You apply 1 coat of Butinox no 3 which is oil based folowed by 2 coats of no 2 which is water based. Not cheap but lasts better than anything. I got mine from the local hardware shop. AL.

    let out

    Mine are put in a cage on the loft roof for a few days to get their bearings and I always put them back in the loft through the trap., when the can fly in the loft to their perches ok I let them out on the ground in front of the loft with the aim to get them back into the trap themselves. After that I am quite happy to let them have a bit more freedom. Has worked for me anyway. Al.

    Sounds like they were strong flyers Chris, like Dave says you could maybe try and get them out when they are younger and not so strong on the wing. Have you other homed birds you could put out tomorrow?

  21. Thats interesting Jason. I wouldnt have said it was eating like it had worms and it seems to be in good shape. I will keep an eye on it and the rest of the birds too. Thanks again. Al.
  22. They are split from the cocks at the moment and it was definately blood. Just on normal rations just now, what are you thinking Jason?
  23. Just notice a hen with a wee bit of blood in its nostril. She had a fly for half an hour and I noticed it when I was feeding it. No signs of any impact and bird seems fine. Any ideas? Al.
