  1. Thanks Ian, and everyone else, for your thoughts. I will probably try as i am for a few years maybe. I think I would need something to compare a change of route to if i was to try a different tack. The maps from google earth. handy for sussing things out. Al.

  3. I am going to have a few more yearling hens than cocks for next year. Not going to have a big team and have space for a few more pairs. Should I be trying to get some additional young cocks to break to the loft if possible. I would like to fly all the hens if I can.

  5. Your right there Alan, its certainly handy training that way, I am in Glasgow or down the Clyde quite often with work. the wifes from Glasgow too so we are down a fair bit for family etc.

  10. I lent rollers to a lad in Clackmannan and one in Livingston, doubt it would have made it to montrose. Hope you find a home for it. cracking wee birds. Al.
  11. Never tried it Wes, I have a painter working with me, he spends most of his time sorting out degraded varnish work (on Yachts/boats). Just doesnt last like paint. Al.
  12. To be honest I wouldnt entertain any varnish, not as durable as paint IMO. Al.

  16. Theres 2 different ones, no 2 and no 3. you need them both, ones oil based and one water, Just be sure to get them the right way round. A pal of mine had a painting business and put me onto it. Not as cheap as stains etc but you will save over the years. Al.
  17. Certainly is, I did the barge boards and soffits round the house 6 years ago and they are still good for a year or two.

  19. I did mine with butinox paint, good for at least 5 years, a paint not a stain but the best of stuff. Al.
  20. I looked at maps and google earth etc Iain, the line of flight to the farther races is down over Glasgow. Thought this was the way to go. Appreciate any other thoughts though.
