I would love to see the route the birds take coming to me through the mountains etc. Just a bit to much money to lose. Im sure they will get cheaper right enough. Also think every 3 minutes would be fine, would give a good indication over the longer distances.

Been looking at my notes on training this year. Lost a lot getting the birds as far as Alexandria but after that from the other side of Glasgow never lost any more in 3 tosses. looks like i am finding some birds that can make it to me. Has given me some more optimism for the coming years.
I would like to have all mine out in the summer too but would hate to lose some of them. Maybe once they have bred a few rounds will think about it again. They have access to an aviary and bath etc so at least they can get out in the mean time,
I have strip lights on one timer and one low wattage bulb on another. The wee one goes out a wee while after the main ones. Gives the birds a chance to settle incase they are caught of the nest when the main ones go out.
I had a hen turn up a week after her race, her breast was ripped open about 3" long. You would never know looking at her now though. Hardy wee birds right enough.
