  1. Nothing concrete Chriss like so many things in my pigeon life, its based on a "hunch" and its general physical appearance
  2. Chris total agreement with your statement, have been keeping and racing pigeons over 50 years,I am still a novice, always learning, hopefully capable of doing so,till my ten toes are turned up,but I suspect we are all novices in so many ways, civility, being courteous, tolerance, kindness, many many ways, and the arrogant ones who professes to know it all, they are possibily the biggest novices of us all.
  3. My own slant on this,if a race bird enters my loft during its race, its disqualified itself, now at whatt point to remove race rubber,I personally would do it with the bird, thats capable of getting up early next morning, and homing, why should that bird be given the oppertunity to "possibily" beat birds that have soldiered on ,without any overnight R/R.
  4. I wasnt omitting Rose or indeed yourelf Chris, just commenting on site plus poll, fair play to all concerned.
  5. Yeah its okay to remove race rubber, but ANY other rings removed, never.
  6. A big welldone to both Dovescott and Phil for kicking this into gear.

Can also denote fitness/top class condition.,especially "slight /shaking/ tremble"
  8. Yes certainily agree with this there are many good memebrs on site, with just a small amount of others.
  9. Well as Dovescott says the truth has come out, bothersome part in all this for me and its fairly prevelent in many things to day is sympathy and understanding for the "bad guys" in this case Timbarra, previous to reading above,my own opinion was he was a petty minded, jeering, sneering, rude, ignorant, in most of his posts on this site he took a delight in bringing them down to his orientation,or in hijacking,or wrecking, them, when he didnt get his way,it was dummy out of the pram, retorting in the fashion I have already described, when he was sorted,he then behaved like all bullies,it being the fault of anything and everthing, all but him ,also Joe 61 to a somewhat lesser extent, now if anyone wishes to agree or dispute my statement, just read back through the archives, and make up your own mind, after reading above, and having had dealings with Mick, who I have found to be 100% honest, and obliging, and extremly helpful,if this concerned me in any aspect, posting on a pigeon site,or any other, definitely wouldnt be on Timbarras priority list.
  10. Welcome Norman & Lana enjoy the site, quite an impressive roller c.v after just four years, well done.
  11. Would agree with you Bewted, but if someone does go to the bother spends time catching these pigeons, what then reporting them would be the logical thing, now there have been many points of view regarding reporting in a previous thread,so thats not feasiable, due to reaction of owners in the majority, its a vicous circle, the conclusion I draw, from this is a very large percentage of fanciers, dont give a damn about the welfare of their birds, this is proven beyond doubt to me by the votes regarding their welfare on another thread,it reads terrible, but in my opinion, its fairly accurate.
  12. Amount of fanciers who have bothered to vote, either way, suggests to me that APATHY is already too ingrained in themselves to make even the slighert attempt to protect their charges, too much of an effort, apparently the mindset on Tooth and Claw and other such sites apparentlyare corect, and racing pigeons etc,are simlpy to supplement the existince of their Raptors, and who could logically argue with that, seeing as pigeon fanciers themselves are so backwards about coming forwards, well as it may,now let posterity be the judge, with no doubt our pigeons the big losers.
  13. Same here Chrisis,if I can help in any way, please ask, admire your honesty and tenacity, both will get you far.
  14. Give it some time yet,its a very good idea, and I feel sure when more understand its our only recourse to doing something positive with the current laws of the land, pretty sure more will excercise their rights to try protect their lofts and pigeons, because sadly its a big and ever increasing problem, affecting lots of us to day,and without something being done to curtail them, its eventually going to get worse, and will in time affect all of us,to ignore this fact now would show scant regard for our pigeons.
  15. This says it all for me as well.
  16. Now,that is sad.

Chris I am also of the opinion, that your honesty, generosity, are marvellous traits, and am not in agreement with anyone having something for the sake of it,freebies are intended for newbies,to encourage them into the sport, and definitely not on an ongoing basis.
  18. Its aint looking good, normal practice means they will walk off the nest eventually,or its extremly unlikely they will rear them on their own,if they do hatch them. /Sorry /

Come on now Joseph, you are definitely not of the sheep mentality, more of the Ram type.get in at the begining, and encourage others, its up to US to get it off the ground, its for OUR benifit.

Joe 61 You have forgot to put the amount that you are donating !?
  21. Would agree entirely with you Mick, and this action would go a long way to sorting out this problem, but you have to convince people of this, who dont recognise we have a problem/dont care/totally indifferent to it,breed more brigade/lets watch and see how many even bother to comment on above which again is a step in right direction, as a poll on here decided ,biggest handicap to the sport is mostly Fanciers
  22. Something like this is long overdue, with it all apparently stacked in fovour of Raptors
  23. I have no doubt whatever they decide,we will back them fully to the best of our ability.but on a personal note I would like to see it from a broader perspective than pigeons alone, there are many species suffering from the overpopulation of these Raptors, and if the public knew their donations intended for songbirds, were being used to overpopulate their Predators, well.
  24. What about pausing for breath for a while and let Dovescott Chris and Rose decide what road to go down, its hard to keep up.
  25. Lets get this moving, and to this end we need a plan, what about yourself Dovescott and Rose and another to spearhead this with you three drawing up your plan of action so to speak, without being offensive to anyone, its important to concentrate in task at hand,Funds, and raising of same, with input from all who are interested, get heads together you three, what road we go down, etc, think its important we concentrate on making Joe Public aware of Raptor problems, for many creatures.
